I've had an idea.
I'm going to post my plan for today's work on here, in the hope that it'll inspire me to actually get a move on with it.
So...
I need to plot some graphs for the paper (with some theoretical data points that John worked out analytically next to the real data points that I got from my simulations), and remove a couple of points from a graph that exists.
I need to work some background on ICEs (integrative and conjugative elements) into the introduction of my paper. This hould be fairly easy as I've already written about them in my thesis.
I need to find some references/textbooks that have data on rates of transposition & excision for different types of insertion sequence and different species of element. This will probably be the most arduous task in the world, but never mind.
I'll let you know how it gets on.
Oh, and I've added mer__girl as a friend. She's a friend of Carl's who says she's interested in illustrating the mooted Sherlock Holmes & the Invaders from Mars comic. Say hello, Cryztal!
