I mean, I don't see the problem with just stopping and saying, hence forth we will call an excess of electrons a positive charge of electrons. We could say, "positive electrons" or "positive protons" or "negative electrons" or "negative electrons" meaning a surplus or deficiency of one or the other. This would be simple, wouldn't involve any remembering all the ways it's wrong and quickly making corrections in your head, and it wouldn't be hard to do. It would have no bearing on circuit analysis math. The plus pole has an excess of charges and the minus pole has a shortage. Straight forward. Bleeding logical. Everyone would be doing it within a week. It's just another example of the oppression of the state. I wake up angry every morning because of it.
