THE EMPTY WINDOW

This is a repost of the poem about my uncle that I mentioned in the last post. I think it holds relevence to good ol White and Dubbo.

The Empty Window

I see you,
As you gaze upon the speckled floor,
I see you stare out the empty window,
As you wait for the darkness to show you the door.

I can see in your eyes,
That your hope is long gone,
The window alone, has heard your cries,
You're a child again, waiting to be born.

But your hope is not all that has deserted you,
I can see your faith has left,
Your time has gone too soon,
Of your legacy you are bereft.

But your pain will soon leave you,
Your suffering will soon be gone,
You don't know where your leaving to,
From your family you will not be torn.

For the window you once gazed through,
The emptiness you once saw,
Is not where the darkness leads you,
Into eternity, you shall be born.
