Yup - that's right. I'm on vacation all this week. Turns out I had 83 hours I had to use up by March 5, so she put me on vacation this week, I'll go back to work for a week, and then I'm off again the week after that.
I'm relatively certain my brain will explode.
I actually had big plans to accomplish this week. I was going to get my apartment cleaned up & reorganized, get some make-ahead recipes done and in the freezer, go visit Wil in Louisville & catch Brian while he's still in Lexington, go eat lunch with Josh one day, hang out with Abby one evening, get the church webpage built...
The funny part is that I actually fooled myself into thinking it would be different this time. Don't get me wrong, mind you - I did actually get some things done.
Monday: I spent most of the day working on my apartment. I managed to get a lot of my bedroom rearranged, some of my kitchen caught up, and hauled off two full bags of trash and a pile of cardboard.
Tuesday: I got a little bit of my living room redone, did some sweeping & dusting... then watched some Netflix and went to music rehearsal.
Wednesday: I slept in until almost 11, played XBox for most of the afternoon, then went to the church and got some paperwork caught up while the Youth stuff was going on.
Today: I slept in until noon, spent 30 minutes trying to decide what to eat, cleaned off a couple of shelves, and am now writing an entry in a journal I've not touched in nine months.
Seeing a pattern here? I really need out of this house...
Anywho, I did manage to throw together a rough
website for the church over the weekend. I ended up using SquareSpace simply because one of the podcasts I listen to talk about it a lot and I liked what they had to say about it. Some of the features are a little restrictive, but once I get back into the coding I think I can smooth some things out. It's been a long time since I did any coding, so this is probably good for me.
Yesterday was Ash Wednesday, so we are now in the Lenten season. Our church really doesn't place a lot of emphasis on that, but there are a few of us who do things on our own. I was going to try something different this year, but I think I'll just stick with my regular fasts.
Today is Valentine's Day, so, "Happy Anniversary, Melanie!" Okay, actually I already told her that when she called earlier asking about the Stitcher app. Yup... my procrastination here is getting worse.
Speaking of V-Day, Caleb swapped some messages with me earlier and I told him that I had this mental image of him in full military fatigues, crouched down in the front room, surrounded by his arsenal, ready to shoot down Cupid the moment he flew by the front window. His respone? "I think that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me." =D His mind is wired a little bit like mine, poor kid, so I thought that was amusing.
