Break out the restraining orders and fire up the C&Ds, I'm headed back to Ohio ... for a weekend. It's been troublesome getting the paperwork through since Wootown now prefers the pigeon method of communication--they must be missing my Wooster Fund gift the past two years. But it should be worth it. Though some friends are staying back in Illinois for a graduation that weekend and an impending dissertation, there will still be some good friends there. I haven't been on campus since 2001--since then they've built a new student health center, alumni center (I think) new economics building, a new dorm and are nearly finished renovating Kauke, the primary academic building. SP told me that we should find a way inside Kauke since it's completely different and really beautiful inside. Hopefully they will have an open house as they milk us for money.

It will be a whirlwind driving experience since I'm kidnapping SV--who is resigned to not going-- when she returns from Indiana on Friday and won't arrive until early Saturday (CK anyone?). It'll be special to spend the time there with the unsuspecting much better half, as Wooster brought us together, yet we hardly knew each other while there and spent a total of one evening hanging out on campus in our combined 7 years on campus. Heh, and I spent that evening trying my best to hook her up with a good friend. Our relationship is fraught with ironies, but this was home of the original.

Other than that, work is going well, health is improved, but my marathon training is non-existent. I hope to push myself for a run this weekend and see exactly where I'm at as the heat abates for a couple of days. Thank goodness for the NBA playoffs or I'd really be bored. I am going to read the Davinci Code this weekend even though the movie and book both have their share of less-than-stellar reviews. It's a part of popular discourse, and it seems as though I'll be among the last to read it. That's how much I miss SV, I'm reading a book I've heard is more huff than stuff. It's nearly like she's in Nigeria again, though we speak on the phone every few days when she can find a minute. Her sister is driving her parents crazy (not vice-versa for a change), so SV is earning brownie points by keeping her mouth quiet and looking good in comparison. Someone has to be the adult in every relationship, even one with parents. ;)

Have a great weekend everyone! For those of you who don't use LJ, drop me an email and let me know what your summer plans are. I'd like to do some traveling as soon as SV gets settled in here late-June.
