Welcome to the Haverty Academy for the Gifted.
The cool autumn breeze rattled the leaves of oak trees alongside the
fences of the Haverty Academy for the Gifted. The academy had a very
mediaeval feel to it, and rightly so, for the turrets and towers had
once belonged to a castle that was now the main building.
It was a magnificent structure, and the modification that had been done
upon it to convert to the academy it now was had been very limited, as
to retain its natural beauty and mystic.
The grounds spread out for many miles, leaving the campus with a
mini-stadium, a helicopter dock, a lush garden, a lake, and to put the
cream on the top, a small orchard cum vineyard.
Haverty’s definition of Gifted was therefore, incredibly rich.
The academy was governed by one Mrs. McAllister-Adams-Burton-Radcliffe,
a ravishingly good-looking woman. Who, to her credit, had been married
four times.
Her son, her one and only son, (for after Joshua Adams was born, she
decided that pregnancy was no good for her body) was the only person in
the entire academy that seemed to dislike being there.
And this, Remington knew for a fact.
