[Having kept mostly to himself for the past few weeks, James has decided it's time for a new Element joke. As such, he's got himself a good sized sheet of tin, and then in careful, neat script written, "apple" across its surface with black paint. After the lettering is done, he'll lay it propped up against the fountain.]

[Mori's walking around the village, exercising a bit since he feels he put on a little weight while in the care of the Malnosso. He walks through the center of town and pauses when he sees the guy who helped him when he was ill. He changes course to come over to the... juice stand? He pauses and just stands there, looming.]

[James may have extremely acute senses, finely tuned ears, a peerless schnozz... but that doesn't really mean he uses them that often. So when he turns around after setting his tin sheet down, he'll just keep walking forward and- WUMP into Mori.

Not having a lot of mass himself though, the end result is him flailing over backwards onto his ass in an inelegant heap] WOOOOOOAHAUHFUWEHFBUBWEHB!!!!?!?

[Mori reaches out a little too slowly to catch James and he falls right through his hands. He didn't mean to sneak up on the guy. He was just waiting to be acknowledged. He offers a hand to the poor guy.]

Oh.. It's you. [Blinkblink, his fur shifts from the brilliant orange he had been wearing, and changes subtly to a tan-on-tan pattern. His hand coming up to accept Mori's while his other pushes his shades back up on his nose carefully]

Wasn't really paying attention. Sorry if I freaked you out.

[Mori easily pulls James to his feet. Once he's sure the guy is steady, he lets go.] You didn't. Thank you for your help. [He bows his head slightly.]

Don't worry about that, anyone would've helped you.

[Not many people want to help someone who might puke on them. James didn't have to do that, but Mori really appreciates it. How that he's said thank you, he's not certain what he should do. He stands there for a moment before gesturing towards the sign. He wants to know what James is up to.]

[Not really sure what to do with the whole, "strong silent type", thing going on, but James perks up when Mori gestures towards his little project]

It's a joke! See, it's "apple" written on a sheet of tin! ... err, do you get it? [His ears twitch in what may or may not have been an abortive attempt at flattening]

[Mori stares at him, at the sign, and back again. Nope, the joke is clearly lost on him.]

It's a j.. you kn... [Sigh]

The representation for Tin, on the elemental table, is Sn. Do you get it? 'Anyone thirsty', 'cause it's a... [Looking at Monolith!Mori with wide eyes] ... Snapple...

[Mori looks at the tin sign again.] Snapple?

[If Tamaki was here, he'd probably assume it's a commoner thing. Maybe it is and that's why Mori doesn't understand the reference. Or it could be something from whatever world would create a person as a shape-changing animal.]

I guess you're not from Earth then..

Snapple's a brand of commercial juices. And, yeah... tin apple.. 'cause... commercial juice... Sn apple.. and the tin.. and the apple... [Trailing off lamely now, his fur rippling back to a more distressed red-tinted-tan color]

[Mori might be frowning at James just a little. Maybe.] I am from Earth.

[Just because he doesn't catch the reference, apparently because his juice is almost always fresh.]

Oh.. [Idea!] But you must be from like, eighteen hundreds or something, right?

Two-thousand three. [Mori didn't sound annoyed or anything. Then again, his voice never really changed much.]
