...James?

James! Where are you?!

[james_morph]

Keu..! You... you... sausage..

[This pronouncement is followed by a rather sudden pained gasp]

[keusrai]

[Right, definitely not a good sign. What follows is the sound of someone putting a coat on, slamming a door shut and bounding down steps.]

James! Talk to me! What happened? [In the meantime, he's going to be searching the village frantically, calling James' name.]

[james_morph]

I... they tore my ear..

[The journal falls slightly skewed suddenly, showing a rather odd view of the village between some trees, and a rather red covered paw]

[James might be able to hear a shudder from Keu. Tearing off a bit of his ear would be like taking a chunk out of someone's arm. He sympathizes.]

Goddamned Malnosso bastards... Hold on, I'm coming! [Looks like he's near the outskirts of the forest. Keu's going to head there, looking for any sign of James.]

[james_morph]

[He's just sort of lying there, his fur a rather startling snow-white against the foresty background. He seems disturbingly passive to the rain drizzling onto his open eyes]

[Not hard to miss that sort of color... it IS quite worrying, though. As soon as Keu spots him, he's going to rush over to James and kneel down next to him.] ...Winds, they really did a number on you... let me try to help. [Filial healing magic is go; it's pretty weak, though, but it ought to help a bit.]

[james_morph]

[It seems to give his head a bit of a jolt, his eyes snapping back into focus and their color returning to their more normal blue-gray. However his ear and foot seem to remain mostly unaffected, though his ribs seem to have stopped bleeding]

K-keu? [He coughs]

[keusrai]

[Oh, man, that's a relief. He's still being cautious, though, ready to try something else should James need it.] Yeah, it's me. Here, let's get you back to the apartment and I'll try to look at those wounds, okay?

[james_morph]

I.. okay. [He looks around in confusion, not really remembering how the hell he got where he was in the first place]

[keusrai]

[Right then. He'll be giving James whatever support he needs - an arm, a shoulder, or just plain being carried - and start making his way to the apartment.]

[james_morph]

[He stands up as best he can, leaning pretty heavily on Keu, and even with the support he's limping pretty badly. Keu may notice that all the parts of James that are in contact with him feel really weird, as they continue to shift abruptly with every jolt of pain]

[keusrai]

[Keu does note the weirdness and tries to slightly shift his grip accordingly. Even to him, it's rather unsettling, though he tries to hide it. He'll just walk in silence for a while, although once his energy's recovered somewhat, he'll send another weak pulse of healing magic into James.]

[james_morph]

[He shivers at the magic] That stuffs like... having your foot fall asleep.. but all over. [another twitch, this time accompanied by several odd shifts in his anatomy before he settles back on his usual form]

How much farther?

[keusrai]

We're almost there, James. I think I can see the apartment from here. [That he can; after a few more minutes of walking, they get to the door. Keu shoves it open - prehensile ears are so handy some days - but pauses at the stairway upwards.]

Do you think you'll be okay with the stairs? You still don't look so good.

[james_morph]

I'm not above [Wince] going on all fours..

But as long as I get some help [pantpant] I should be fine.
