I did not sleep very good Friday night. I was awake every hour or so but I could not get back to sleep when I woke up around six thirty Saturday morning. I had my alarm set for seven but finally gave up on trying to get back to sleep at ten til seven. We went out to Rick's for breakfast before my mother and I headed to Western Kansas at nine.
My oldest cousin, his wife and three daughters were at my uncle's. I spent most of the time protecting Cooper from the little girls when he was not hiding under a bed. One of the girls was actually able to crawl under one of the beds to get him. The poor little dog's nerves were pretty shot but he is too timid to growl at them.
My cousin's wedding ceremony lasted for about thirty minutes but then we went to the reception and the dinner. I took a few pictures but nothing really grand. I had a piece of chocolate cake at the reception. The dinner meal consisted of ham, roast beef, dinner roll, corn and mashed potatoes. I had punch and a Sprite to wash it all down. We did not attend the dance because we went back to my uncle's house to get out of dress clothes and no one wanted to drive back at night (my uncle's house and the dance site was in two different towns about fifteen miles apart). My oldest cousin and his family also decided to leave then (they live near Kansas City so they had a long drive) and Cooper was very happy that the little girls were gone.
I went to bed around eleven but had a hard time getting comfortable. I finally drifted off to sleep and woke up a little after two. I tossed and turned before finally drifting off again. I think I woke up every forty-five minutes after that. When five thirty rolled around, my sinuses were very congested and I had a splitting headache. I had brought my own pillow but the bed I was sleeping on was a rock. I finally decided to sleep in a recliner and I dozed off for about thirty minutes before the sun rose and my uncle got up. My mother got up feeling rested since she took a sleeping pill. I finally gave up on trying to get any more sleep.
We got home around eleven thirty this morning. I unpacked the car, walked the dogs, picked up fallen apples and watered the gardens before I got comfortable. I took a thirty minute nap this afternoon before reading comic books. I also finished reading
The Last Days of Krypton by Kevin J. Anderson (a must for any Superman fan).
