What a awesome day
I could not have asked for better weather today. Beautiful blue clear skys (except some scattered clouds at 4000ft). The air was so clear you could see the Rocket at the space and rocket center from the skys over New Market (which is a good 30 miles away). That is very clear for this area. The wind was pretty variable from the west and slightly gusty at times, but there is no better weather to knock the rust off if you haven't been flying in a while. My instructor said I wasn't rusty at all, and I felt very comfortable and relaxed. The only problems I had were trying to set the plane down on the numbers. Everytime I would start to flare as I reached my aiming point a gust would kick up and carry me past the numbers another 300 feet. Got it on the last try, but I flew that plane onto the runway and I almost landed twice with a nice little bump. But what a wonderful day. I feel so relaxed and stressfree. I'm gonna go down there sometime after work this next week and just fly whatever they have available. fun fun.
