But, I finally decided to write something here...I won't go moaning about the awful 2 weeks I've had prior because it honestly doesn't matter and it all went as well as things like that could possibly go. My quality-of-life-o-meter is still fairly high. In times like these some people forget just how fortunate they are, overall, and start

i love the Jamal Blackwell's Guide to Self-Therapy. i just had to say that.
as far as feeling like your intelligence is spilling out, i agree. i was just talking with my voice teacher (a wellesley alum) this morning about how we always want to be learning. she was saying how she still finds herself knee deep in research when she's learning about something new and she loves it. i guess i'm the same way, although not to such a strong degree. and lately i have definitely been feeling the braincells dying.
one thing i did about a year ago (mostly in anticipation of taking the gre's, which i never did and probably never will do) was sign up on dictionary.com for the word of the day email. if you don't mind a daily message that will occasionally contain words you already know, it's a good way to feel like you're doing a teensy bit to stimulate your brain.
and about six months ago i got a new library card, for the purpose of enriching my mind. today i used it to check out books on feng shui and architecture. heh.
i, too, would like to become fluent in another language, but i fear my window of opportunity has closed to but a crack. but i know what you would say-- i should open it. heh. okay, Dr. Blackwell. let's all go to spain, shall we? that would help, i think. :)o

I stopped using my library card after I realized that the only branch of the library worth anything is in downtown, so I'd have to go on the weekend or through downtown during rush hour. Combine that with the fact that they only had 2 copies of 1984, one of which was the large type version, and I'm pretty unimpressed with Austin Bibliotechs (my...guess that French is still in there somewhere :)).
