dear mom,

a lot has happened to me in the time you haven't been around. i passed 10th grade. i did good too. i still have my job. i went to an interview too but it wasn't what i hoped for. i finished 7th in points for racing. i got an industrial piercing. you know, the one you promised me you'd bring me to get done. but of course that meant nothing like all your other promises. i got my belly button pierced but i had to take that out today. i dyed my hair black and i cut it too. its getting long now. i got a rabbit. i painted my room. i'm in auto tech. i turned 16. i got my permit. i got arrested. i went to court and i had probation for a while. thats done now though. over the summer i went to dorney park. i broke up with my boyfriend, but thats probably the way you would've wanted it. guess who i'm with now.. you know, the one you never liked anyway. i guess that shows how opposite we are from each other. i saw the davinci code. i guess its kinda funny since i was reading it at the time you SO KINDLY kicked me out of your 'home'. i'm taking another class at SVA. i'm doing really good in school this year. i got new glasses. my best friend & i are talking again. i made some new friends. i could've been killed in a car fire.. it was pretty close.. i did a couple things that you wouldn't be very happy about. i worked at the humane society for a while. i built a bed, the kind i've always wanted. i spent time with YOUR family that like me, you forgot about. i got a new cell phone.. oh, one more thing.. despite how much it hurts, i've come to realize that i don't need you in my life.

so have fun with your arrogant boyfriend husband. i hope he's all you've ever hoped for.. i hope he's everything you wished i was.. since i was never good enough for you.

i'm glad you chose him over me.
its nice to know this guy you've known a year is more important than your only child.
but thats okay. i'll make sure i never talk to you, but i'll send you a card to announce the "happy" news when i get married.
just like you did to me.

love, your daughter, signed,
Jamie
