OK, I liked Belgium and am disappointed they didn't go through. Part of this is because their backstage interview with the Australian hosts was really entertaining - the other part is I really like it when people can actually sing and entertain. Totally missed the poster bit, obviously wasn't looking at that point!
Ireland - who knew that the 80s were coming back again?! Honestly I thought it was only 40th and 20th birthday parties that wanted them back now. Also whoever did their backing large video thing - if you can't see the actual singers anywhere on the stage there's a problem. On the other hand they couldn't dance, so maybe it's just as well

I'm weeping with you on Dana, I can't believe she didn't make it through. She deserves a wild card. I hope there's one more race in her left, but when they crossed to her in the Green Room she looked over it all and like she really needed a stiff drink. Her face was filled with regret... probably at having to return her other Gaultier dress.

“Why are their microphones turned down so much, we can only hear the beat?”
Pretty much what I was thinking as well. After that build-up, I was expecting more, Ireland!
I was distinctly unimpressed by Sweden, but damn, that song's still stuck in my head, so there's certainly that. :P

The Slovenian backing singers were worth staring at.
Luscious Thighs comes pretty close to the 1973 Swedish entry with the wonderful phrase "your breasts are like swallows in nesting".
