Themed Recs 001: Crossovers

Jan 06, 2012 13:54

YAY, it's time for fun stuff! \o/

We're kicking off our monthly themed recs with crossovers. I was going to toss all the suggestions into a hat and go from there, but I have an insane weakness for crossovers. Forgive my bias, please! We'll get to all of them eventually.

Before we get started, be aware that recs go in the comments of THIS post. Please DO NOT post recs directly to the comm in separate posts. The reasons for this are that I like things neat and tidy, I want anonymous commenters to be able to play too, and making separate rules for comm recs vs. comment recs and trying to keep track of it all would be kind of a headache.

RULES:

❶ You can rec any fanwork relating to Dark Angel, as long as it fits this month's theme.

What qualifies as a crossover: stories in which the characters, premises, or settings of more than one fandom coincide. Crossovers may consist of a complete blending of universes or only a slight, passing connection.

Obviously, Dark Angel needs to be one of those fandoms.

EXAMPLE: Willow accidentally magics herself into cyberspace and possesses Logan's computer. Together, they fight crime.
(The Buffy and Dark Angel 'verses and characters coexist.)

And because I'm greedy and want as many recs as possible, I'm gonna allow fusions, too. Fusions being stories in which the characters of one fandom are written into the reality of another.

EXAMPLE: Alec and Ben are brothers on a road trip in search of their father, killing every evil son of bitch they find along the way. Logan's a grumpy salvage yard owner with as many guns as books. Together... they get mostly get their asses kicked.
(Dark Angel characters replace the original characters in the Supernatural 'verse.)

❷ Recs can be new or old, as some of us are still new to the fandom and haven't seen it all yet. We'd love to see classics as much as the more recent stuff, so dig deep into those bookmarks and rec away.

❸ One rec per comment. There's no limit to how many recs you can post, though, so go crazy.

❹ No self-recs, please.

❺ WIP recs are allowed. Just mention that it's a WIP somewhere in your notes, for those wary of that kind of thing.

❻ How to rec:

Your subject line should list the type of fanwork (fic, art, etc.), title, and the author/artist/source. Like so: FIC: Title by Author -- ART: Untitled by Artist -- VID: Title by Vidder -- META: Title by Author, etc. etc..

Use this form to comment:

Title: TITLE OF FANWORK
Author/Artist/Source: (or NAME)

Rating:
Warnings:
Genre/Pairing:
Word Count: (If there isn't one, just put something like "none listed; comment-fic/long-fic/etc." If it's not applicable due to the rec being fanart/graphics, put N/A.)

❼ Also, LURKERS. It's your time to shine! You know, secretly. :P Anonymous comments are enabled, and IP logging is off for the moment. So don't be shy and come play with us! Or, you know, do be shy, but still come play. :)

❽ Don't forget that you can always go here to suggest more themes, any time, as many times as you want.

❾ This post will be open all month. I'll probably close it out around Feb 5th or so, but I'll try to pimp it regulary throughout that time so that, hopefully, no one misses it.

❿ Questions? Comments? Fire away. And feel free to second other people's recs, add your own comments about why everyone should check it out, engage in general squee, etc..

HAVE FUN!
