I am sore, and probably will be deaf by the time I'm 40, but it was worth it.
Partial playlist:
- Big Casino
- Praise Chorus
- Work
- Blister
- Goodbye Sky Harbour (thankfully NOT 16 minutes long ;))
- Always Be
- Crush
- 23
- Robot Factory
- Let It Happen
- Pain
- Bleed American
-- encore --
- Your House (modified/acoustic... like, omg the song is actually good :P)
- Hear You Me
- Sweetness
- The Middle (very last)
I got shivers on the first four songs, and quite a few others. (I'm sure I've missed some, and the order on the middle songs is likely wrong.)
Morons were calling out to play "The Middle" at the start of the encore... First, overplayed; Second, have you heard any of the Acoustic renditions? They never manage to pull anything new out of that song.
I was VERY VERY happy that Praise Chorus was the 2nd song they played. I would have been slightly happier if they had played Futures, but whatever.
It was an interesting trip going down though... keeping in mind I went alone, haha.
5pm: It's 5... Uhm, I guess I should really get to the store to pick up my ticket. Pffff, 24 hours in advance. 2 is better.
6pm: Get off the subway (Shepperd), find the mall easily enough, get ticket. Grab McDeath for food on the long subway ride downtown.
6:45: Get off at King, to avoid wandering through Union station. Ignore the fact that I've never used this station. Decide to walk to The Docks. I am crazy, yes.
7:10: Stop in at a community centre, to make sure I hadn't walked too far and missed my turn onto Cherry. I think they thought I was crazy for walking. Given I also (obviously) was standing, rocking, and dancing until 11, they're probably right... but anyway.
7:45: Manage to get there fine, though I did do unnecessary backtracking because I didn't see the path by Lakeshore. Whatever.
It was totally worth it going. I dislike Toronto less, which was actually my justification in buying the ticket in the first place. ... oh, and I no longer think Jim Adkins (lead singer) is unattractive, but none of you needed to know that.
