After creating my journal more than a year ago, I finally gathered the nerve to write my first entry.
Today was a very interesting day because it was the first work day of 2006 -everything was back to normal. The Holiday Season came and went really fast.
I started feeling the spirit of Christmas on or about December 12th. 12 days til Christmas! Sang the songs, went shopping again and again. One of those nights I went to the Mall at 10:50 p.m., but unfortunately the stores closed at 11 p.m. Oh yeah, it was Dec. 23rd. The clerk told me that the store would re-open at 7 a.m. the next day. I promised I'd be back.
After much thought, I realized that I didn't "need" anything. I had already bought enough gifts. On the 24th, I spend all day wrapping presents. This holiday was actually better than I expected, because there were no surprises. The food was good, the company was better, my family is lovely, it was close to being perfect.
What wasn't right, you may ask - well for one, 32 people went to my daughter's house for dinner. If I remember correctly, there were 20 adults, 7 children and 5 infants. Two sets of twins. For a short while,
we had 2 infants screaming to the top of their lungs - I only wish I'd brought my ear plugs.
The next day was one of the happiest Christmases I've had in a long time. Everything was mellow, I was surrounded by all my loved ones. Who can ask for more.
I can't wait to see what this year will bring. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year.
