Chrodechild arrives, a large bag slung over her shoulder that is essentially a portable campsite: tent, bedrolls, and so on. She nods to Jale with a slight smile.

"It's a good day to travel," she said.

He nodded in return. "Hopefully, the weather'll hold up."

He was getting better at waking up without having to be forcefully aided. "Heya guys!" Sieg greeted, bright and perky as he was prone to be whenever there were great adventures to be had. Slung over his shoulder was the pack he'd gotten the time he and Lo Hak had set off for the impromptu trip to Vinay del Zexay, resupplied, of course. His swords were belted behind him, his usual pouch that likely carried his Chronicle strapped at his side.

"You're improving," Jale remarked as he approached. It was ironic, he mused, that after all these years, Sieg would be able to get out of bed early when Marica wasn't around to kick him out of it.

"Good morning, Sieg," Chrodechild nodded to the young man. "As energetic as you look, we'll be hard put to keep up with you."

She looked around to see if the other members of the traveling party had arrived.

The boy rocked back and forth on his feet, folding his arms behind his head. "Hah, believe it or not, I think I've gotten into the habit ever since I got here," he told Jale. Sieg grinned over at Chrodechild. "I'll try not to leave you guys behind."

Within minutes, two tall men were striding toward the small knot of travelers, carrying rather light packs on their backs. Geddoe wore his usual blank, vaguely stern expression of business. A quick glance told him the ninja wasn't there yet, but the rest were.

"Looks like we'll have a full party," he remarked idly as they walked up.

"Good morning, Captain. Sigurd." Chrodechild nodded to Geddoe and Sigurd.

"Indeed." With a quirk of a mouth she added, "As long as the Lizard folk don't mistake us for a war party, we should be all right, I guess."

"Speaking of which," Jale said as he turned to look at Geddoe, "what should we know about them? All I've heard is that they're 'not that bad'."

"Heya! Glad you could join us!" Sieg greeted the two as well. He looked around at those gathered, anxious to go.

Jale brought up a good point. Sieg knew nothing about the Lizard people aside from that such existed, which had cinched his decision in wanting to go, even if he more or less had invited himself. He tilted his head at Jale, then glanced towards Geddoe since, well, he'd know better than any of them, right?

Geddoe casually adjusted his gloves while he replied to the group at large. "The Lizard Clan have a warrior's culture," he said gruffly. "They prize fighting, but it's a misconception that they're 'war-like,' as the Zexen might say. They value bravery, loyalty, and the protection of their own and their allies. But they're also good traders, so armed visitors won't raise any alarm. It's safe to say, they'll probably think the lot of you are my new mercenary group." He shot Sigurd a quick smirk, and then let his gaze slide over to Chrodechild, as if to suggest that it wouldn't be far from the truth.

"That said, don't go picking any fights and don't insult them for looking like lizards. The guards should know me on sight, and if by some distant chance they stop us at the entrance, let me do the talking. I don't expect trouble, though." He raised his visible eyebrow at the two youngest members of the party. "My friends are their friends. As long as we don't do anything to revoke that friendship, it should go smoothly."

It was at that time that Kasumi arrived, thought it felt more as if she had been there the entire time and simply did not make herself noticeable. Stepping into the main group, she gave a warm smile to both Chrodechild and to Geddoe.

"It would suit you well, then, that I am an expert in diplomatic matters," she said with a sort of wink to Geddoe. At least HE knew what she was talking about. And if anyone would back up Geddoe and Sigurd in their claims, it was her.

Chrodechild listened to Geddoe's explanation of the Lizard clan carefully and nodded, first to his explanation and then to his mention of the mercenary group. When he finished--she noticed Kasumi's arrival and returned her warm smile with one of her own.

To the whole group, she replied with a flicker of the eyes toward Sieg and Jale, "They sound a bit like the Austerfolk. I won't jump to conclusions, but hopefully if we managed to befriend them, we can avoid major conflict with these people." She nodded to Geddoe and Kasumi. "But part of that will be following your lead I'm sure."

Jale met Geddoe's raised eyebrow with an even stare. "Fair enough." Truthfully, the older man's implication that he and Sieg might cause trouble chafed at him just a bit... though he had to admit that they had caused their fair share of trouble in the past. And Sieg's brain-to-mouth filter was kinda missing a lot of the time.

Ah, well. If the Lizard Clan was as similar to the Austerfolk as it sounded, things would be alright.

He looked around at the group, counting heads. "Where's Roberto?"

Oh, he caught that look. Just what was Geddoe trying to imply, huh? Sieg looked about ready to say something to that matter, but Kasumi's arrival forestalled any such thing.

"Heya Kasumi!" he said, easily finding his grin again. Well, that was nearly all the people they'd expected, right? He scratched his head as he glanced about for the last person Jale had mentioned. "Did he say he was coming after all?" he asked. He smirked faintly. "Maybe he got lost again."

"I'd asked him to join us, but he never got back to me with a final reply. Honestly, I think Roberto's had enough travel after his recent experience, so this is all of us. Shall we go?"
