(no subject)
My entire family is visiting from all over. My aunt and uncle from Florida, my cousin and her girlfriend from New Jersey, and my other uncle from Idaho was supposed to visit for my cousin David's wedding last saturday. He decided that a gig with his band was more important though... his loss. This has seriously been one of the best visits, with anyone from out of town, that I've ever had. My *new* aunt Brenda is awesome, she's a pediactric nurse, originally from New England. And I've never really gotten much of a change to hang out with my uncle Mike, I haven't even seen him since my grandmother died... 5 years ago? Wow. But this has been a good trip. He's a very fatherly person, and that feels nice. He also thinks a lot like I do, so it's nice having someone around (since Seth) whom I can talk to about political things. I'm also really digging my cousin. She's amazing! 25 years old and we've never met. Not to sound comepletely weird or anything, but this is also my first extended experience hanging out with tried and true lesbians. These are just really cool people. They offered to let me come stay with them in their apartment in Jersey, apparently they're like 10 miles from New York... and god, we all know how much I've wanted to go there.
The only bad thing about the visit? Well, there are two, my mom is becoming really distant and mean... she's the one who invited them all here, and yet I'm the one entertaining them, coming up with stuff for them to do, and hanging out with them. Yeah, I didn't have to work, but she seems so standoffish. The second thing, isn't such a big deal... I just haven't gotten a good nights sleep since they've all been here, I figure I'll catch up tomorrow when I get my room back. I'm just really happy that they've wanted me to be included in everything. I felt almost guilty today for getting sick. I really wanted to go today, right now they're at UW renting Canoes and paddling around Lake Washington. After that, they're going to the Pacific Science Center, and to the Omnidome for a movie they can watch on the ceiling of the dome :), then later, we talked about going to a lazer show, but I'm not sure if everyone was interested in that or not.
Another interesting fact, I did a drug deal for my uncle last night, and my mom's pissed off about it. Like it's mine. Grr, she really doesn't make any sense, she's sitting up in her room spouting about how he's drinking too much, ect. And she's the one that gave him some weed when he initially got here. Makes sense.
