Random Songs on iTunes & What They Mean to Me

1) "Young Lust" by Pink Floyd.
this reminds me of the summer of '05 where all i did was stay up for days, watch pink floyd's the wall, smoke pot, cry over my failed crush on matt manser, and hang out with becka and dennis. this particular song was on dennis's xanga, and i was mad at him.

2) "Down By The Seaside" by Led Zeppelin.
matt put this on the mix he made me, and i liked it so much.

3) "Kristina She Don't Know I Exist" by Catch 22.
the beginning of freshman year, i was a total rudegirl asshole prat. all i listened to was ska. and i was obsessed with alejandro, a boy i'd met at art camp in the summer of '03. and he liked ska. so i guess this goes out to him.

4) "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" by Radiohead.
one memory that sticks out about this song is staring at myself, dirty, ugly, tired, and naked with this song on permanent cycle. that was a bad night.

5) "Fitter Happier" by Radiohead.
oddly enough, this reminds me of tosh. it was his myspace profile at a time. and i was really excited when i saw it. yeah.

6) "Sometimes" by My Bloody Valentine.
watching Lost In Translation at arina's house, then going home and downloading the soundtrack and loving this song.

7) "No Surprises" by Radiohead.
i remember, when becka first sold me her shitty guitar, sitting at my computer, very frustrated, desperately trying to pluck out the opening lines to this song. also, i remember listening to this a lot after anthony young turned me down and i was living in the projects.

8) "God Bless Our Dead Marines" by A Silver Mt. Zion.
walking into the first unitarian church, dripping with excitement. sitting in the hot muggy pews next to dennis, and listening to some jewish folk music band before a silver mt. zion finally set up. they opened with this song, and i almost peed myself. they did it so beautifully, and the last 5 minutes of it brought me near hysterical. it was fucking gorgeous.

9) "A Warm Place" by Nine Inch Nails.
the CD (the downward spiral) that this song was on was the only thing i got for my 15th birthday. i loved it, though. i laid on my bed listening to this song especially, and thinking about evan a lot. seventeen days later i met chris rys and i went through the same process with him.

10) "The Final Countdown" by Europe.
when i was really little a midi version of this song was played in the background of a beanie baby forum i frequented LOLOLOLOLOL. i forgot about it until i saw something on vh1 about it and i downloaded it again, laughed, and made dennis listen to it. it's easily the cheesiest song in the world.

11) "Foxy Lady" by Jimi Hendrix.
me and paul would play this song really loud on our ipods whenever ms. stroman would walk by and we'd laugh really really hard.

12) "Linoleum" by NOFX.
i remember going to a halloween punk show at old pine where brian coghlan's brothers band was playing and seeing alejandro there, and freaking the fuck out because i never thought i'd see him again after camp. i remember turning around to talk to kelsey and being face to face with him. crazy.

13) "Twilight" by Elliott Smith.
chris told me this was the most beautiful song ever and that i had to listen to it. it really is. thank you chris. i relate this song to everything.

14) "Here With Me" by Dido.
riding the bus to art camp during the summer of '02 and being made fun of by these fat twins.

15) "Echoes" by Pink Floyd.
lolololol you've got to be fucking kidding me. this song reminds me of matt and everything. this song has made me cry more than any other song in the world. it's also made me happier than anything. all 23 minutes of it. i can't even fucking describe how i feel about this. oh! yes i can. new years, when we were all at dennis's, we drank a lot of nyquil and put this on and laid on the couch. towards the climax, i started shaking and i remember holding dennis hand really really tightly and crying...
