Conversations in a movie theater, part XXXI

Mar 16, 2009 22:37

It seems like the number of mind-boggling conversations has greatly increased with the advent of the new year. Seriously, there was a pretty decent drought of noteworthy interactions for a long while there, and I've had easily a half-dozen in the last three months. Looks like maybe it's just gonna be one of those years...

Conversation #63

(customer walks up to the café with a receipt for a pretzel, paid for at the stand)

Me: (takes receipt, looks at it) Salted or plain?
Customer: What's... salted...?

(customer goes to look in the pretzel display)

Customer: Oh, that one in the back, is that salted?
Me: Yep.
Customer: So the plain doesn't have anything on it?
Me: No. That's why it's called "plain."
