I have been tagged by Patt to blurt 10 random facts about myself:
1. I do not like the smell of fresh-brewed coffee, especially when I just woke up. I do not drink coffee--it makes me palpitate. Water is my best friend in any occassion.
2. I hate rats.. A ghastly sighting of a rat/mouse whether in print, internet, face to face, can send me in a major MI. I can attribute this phobia to my childhood experience--- this bitch nibbled on my great toe & woke me up from sleep! Since then, it has been my greatest phobia.
3. I can eat cheese the whole day. I particularly like the Pepperjack cheese. I buy the $3 cheese & cut it to cubes.. Voila!. cubed cheese 1/2 its retail price... That usually lasts for a week & a half. I buy Toasteds butter crisp-- now I enjoy cheese & crackers pauper style...Big savings though!
4. I used to have a long hair when I was 5 or 7 years old. My lola asked me if I want to have it cut, so I said yes because it was too hot... I swear that was the day I witnessed how my mom could be so wicked when she's upset. She then called me "Joey" instead of Joy (since my haircut style was a bob) dragged me to a mangungulot--had my hair curled-- a curly bob cut is a complete disaster.. Few days after that, I had fever.. My classmates called me "Annie". That was an excruciating experience for a child, I think. Lesson learned--all throughout my high school life I had long hair, then told her I have complete control over my hair after high school...
5. I had my share of starstruck experiences, though my mom, with her unswerving belief in my talent claims I was made for stardom--Case #1.. She took me to Regal Films to audition for a minor role for Elwood Perez movie. They called after several weeks & said the project was shelved..Case # 2: She brought me to Eat Bulaga to audition for Little Miss Philippines. There, I recited the poem, "The Owl & the Pussycat" & I suddenly forgot the words halfway... Major failure again. So, at an early age, I knew my talent may be worth a round of applause but can never put food on the table.. My mom thinks otherwise. Until now, she thinks I can be the next American Idol... bwahaha!!!
6. If not for the U.S. Bases, I would not be here.. so I am forever grateful...
7. I was a co-founder for the PS Gang in my junior & senior year. It does not stand for anything fancy, in fact, it might be offensive to some--- PS starts for Paking Shet gang--a group of 5 young girls who were responsible for creating laughter in the classroom. Every class, we have a notebook we pass around, with silly stuff, like caricatures of teachers, wrong pronounciations..anything except the subject at hand. This was the happiest period of my high school life. Now that we do not see each other anymore, we have created an e-group which we call "Cyberbuddies".
8. I cut up apples and eat them while driving. I also eat them while I'm watching movies in the theatres.. this way I will not order that guilt-laden popcorn & nachos.
9. I eat oatmeal everyday with fresh cut fruits (blue/black/straw berries, bananas, all the good stuff). I save the "best" for the weekend--stuff ourselves (Poy, Princeton & myself) with good ol' greasy bacon, eggs with tomatoes & cheese (the best), salami & hotdogs.. Disciplining strikes each Monday.. not bad, huh?
10. We do not have a dresser mirror in the room because I am scared of seeing a ghost reflection in the mirror. I also do not have a jewelry box & have been wanting to get one.
I'm tagging PIA, LICO, ESTELLE, GINKY, JENG, TENG, DRIX, CHRIS NEPO, GERRY & IAN... You're it!
