received these last Tuesday. what a lovely surprise! i wasn't expecting them to arrive this early, as the estimated delivery date was sometime next week. but i can't complain about The Book Depository's wonderful service!! (free shipping to NZ! how can you beat that!)

i'm a complete culinary whore. if other women are into their designer labels and whatnot, i'm totally obsessed with all things culinary. bring me to a home/cook store and i'll be gushing over nifty kitchen gadgetry, lovely linens and pretty flatware/serveware (which i need for my food photography). if LV is their store of choice, mine would be sur la table. i could spend oodles of money there (i wish i have a lot to begin with though).
julia child is my inspiration. she didn't learn how to cook until she was in her late 30s and became really good at it. i want to be like her; i want her passion for cooking and teaching. i love how she was able to live a good life through good food. i better eat that sole meuniere now and get that flame ignited!
