*sigh
a not so great week for us. joel is having problems at work (long story) and it hasn't got anything to do with his performance. the company he's working for is having lots of trouble settling a buy-out of another company and it looks like it's not pushing through at all. so joel's caught in the middle of everything and it just sucks! man, and here i thought everything's going all cruisy. either he finds a new job or move to a different town altogether. we still don't know what's exactly going to happen, but i'm hoping for the best (trying to be reeaaally optimistic here). hoping he wouldn't need to look for another job and he wouldn't need to move to a different location! (but that said, i still do not regret our decision to move here (well, i am being selfish a little bit). i love my work. i love it heaps!)
oh boy.
and then last night, our airbed finally gave up on us. i thought we could hold off getting a proper mattress at least a few months but hey, looks like we need to do it before the week ends!!! aaaaggghhhhh!! just great when we still haven't got our finances together. well on the upside, joel's pay came through today so we at least have some money to use.
anyway, we had our audiology department christmas party in town tonight and it was a lot of fun. we did disco bowling (i came out #1) and ate dinner at a japanese teppanyaki restaurant. not exactly the yummiest i've tasted but it was entertaining nonetheless. we were catching flying food with our bowls and mouths (not a great sight). i had a good time bonding with my colleagues and learned more about their personal stuff.
work today was quite good, getting more confident the more patients i see. generally my patients are nice people but every once in a while, you get some off ones. haven't had someone really tricky yet and hopefully i won't get to see one if my manager's not around hehehe.
oh boy i couldn't wait for christmas break!! i can't wait to do black water rafting with our friends. i'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun! :)
