okay, let's all hope i still remember every detail right!
after changing into my gown, veluz had tears in her eyes (i'm pulling your leg a bit)- she couldn't believe i have transformed into a lady with her help and cherry's. i am serious! she couldn't stop mouthing "ang ganda ganda mo! ang ganda ng gown! ang ganda ng make-up!". even cherry had to agree- what can i say? i have hired magicians kekeke. but with their powers combined, they still couldn't stop me from acting ungirly. i wasn't about to put on act just because i'm getting married.
anyway, we did most of our pictorials at the garden in sonya's B&B. i had 5 cameras pointed at me (ganun talaga pag mukhang photos) and i had no problems posing for them- as long as the poses weren't cheesy, otherwise my displeasure will definitely show (ask joanne arquiza). our photographers did have problems with the video people- they were obtrusive and wanted to get the best seats in the house, so to speak.
after doing a few rounds of pictorials, my mom and i rode on the bridal car (courtesy of joel's SIL's dad) to caleruega. arrived there a few minutes before 3pm. i walked the long route but it was all good- a few people commented on how lovely my gown was. Veluz eh! i was kidding Veluz later that I was dropping her name to these people... : )
i waited for about 20 minutes before they started the bridal march, so whilst waiting for my turn, i was hanging out with Veluz and her crew. mimi was also there, documenting my being wa-poise. i know you've seen some photos- notably this:
was not posed! i was really tired- no lunch, in a tight dress, holding a heavy bouquet, with the weather slightly warm. all elements added up, so this is what you get. i haven't had a drop of water since 10am so i was really parched- good thing my friend sam passed by and i had a few sips of water and veluz was ever-ready, she gave me a huge bottle and i had a few gulps too. and i'm ready again!
you know how veluz brides especially w@wies would rave on and on about veluz and being a non-veluz bride, you'd kinda think if they're overplaying things? i had a first-hand experience on how she works and how she treats her clients and she's fabulous! she'd really go the extra mile to make you happy and sometimes acts like your second coordinator. : ) she's done hundreds, probably even thousands of gowns and dealt with so many brides but she always deals with you as if you're her first-ever client. quite an amazing feat, if you ask me. i don't think i can be that bubbly and excited all the time! :o)
veluz and her team were a riot to be with- ang kukulit! niko was particularly swooning over a classmate of ours and was joking non-stop and i was laughing so hard. and when my coordinator finally gave me the go signal to start walking towards the church entrance, i skipped twice! because i was tired of waiting for my turn.
then the fun part started!
my mum and brother were waiting for me at the chapel entrance and when my bridal march (it's the gospellers's "yakusoku no kisetsu") started, they then opened the doors- i was probably smiling like a fool- trying to hold back tears. you know how veluz puts this as "the power of the door"? it's true! it's overwhelming- people staring back at you and cameras a-flashing, you see familiar faces and your groom waiting by the altar for you. it's a great memory. : )
my brother even had time to crack a joke, telling joel to "take it! take it!" when he and mum handed me over to him. i have a crazy bro. then we started our wedding ceremony. i love fr. stephen redillas! he gave a short but sweet homily about promises and i guess the guests enjoyed it as much as we did. the ceremony lasted less than an hour and we did the whole photo-taking thing in the church (how can we not take photos inside that beautiful chapel?!).
we didn't do the dove release because it's inhumane and it doesn't really serve any purpose, apart from caging the birds and denying them food. no flower girls nor ring/coin bearers too- our best man took care of these. i didn't have bridesmaids too, initially i wanted to just have a maid-of-honor and best man but i thought it would be unfair to my other friends so i decided to make some of them secondary sponsors.
i have yet to see photos of the aisle arrangements- a guest commented how lovely the flowers were. i thought the arch decor was very tasteful! i went with leafy vines instead of flowers and i loved the effect. you can see this in one of richard's photos. our car bouquet was also generous- no scrimping of flowers there.
we did our pictorial around caleruega then went to sonya's garden about 5:30pm. before we went to the reception area (Sunflower), we dropped by our room to changed into more comfy shoes. joel wore his brother's black chucks and i put on my tory burch look-alike white anthology flats! something comfortable at last (don't get me wrong, niko's shoes were comfy but i'm more at ease in flats).
(part trois to follow)
