Writer's Block: Creepy Crawlies

May 28, 2008 18:07

i was about 7 then, when a huge flying cockroach landed on the back of my head whilst i was playing with my pet rabbit. i wasn't the sort who gets freaked out by roaches but when this big bug refused to budge, i started losing my composure.

can't remember how i got that thing off my head. was it my brother or my dad who swatted the thing away... hence my phobia with cockroaches.

i refuse to go near one or even kill one! i'm too scared and i hate the sound they make when you squish one with your foot. TOTAL GROSSNESS.

but wait, there's more!

when i was about 18-19, my friend and i were having lunch at the now defunct universe cybercafe (i think). i ordered a glass of iced tea whilst surfing the internet. i was sipping my tea when i bit on something really crunchy. i initially thought it was a plastic sheet that got into my drink. when i spat it out, imagine my surprise (and disgust) to see a chomped roach!!

well i didn't get a refund if that's what you're asking. i got another drink though... looking back, i should've raised hell. maybe i got more than a new drink.

anyway-

our civil wedding went ok. it lasted a mere seven (or even less!) minutes. joel and i were feeling pretty comfortable throughout the ceremony but feels a bit weird and i was about to choke up whilst saying my vows. i don't know... maybe because the whole thing's for real and it's something permanent. definitely not for the faint-hearted. haha.

mum's leaving tonight. i'm so going to be sad. :( i loved her stay here, we were enjoying ourselves so much. i can't wait to go back home and be with her and my cats! i can't wait for september to come! she's been great- taught me a lot of new recipes i can try my hand at (when she's not around), learned a new trick on ironing pesky trousers and jeans, opened my eyes to the world of financial planning (eeek! i know). good thing she's here or i'll never learn my commodities from my bonds. yep, i'm a total noob at this.

joel and i are going to invest our money next week with DBS's schroeder's livesure 2025 fund.

well june's going to be a really busy month for me. i'm going to work on my papers and hopefully get everything ready before august. i also have to prepare for our church wedding too... we still do not have a guest list! geez, it's the little things that i absolutely hate about this wedding. now i am regretting that we're having a church wedding. i know, i know, i should've listened to mum.

argh.
