too long since I've written
Just checking in to say "Hi, out there!"
The bonnie little lass is doing well, sleeping through most of the night and eating "solid foods" now. I can hardly wait until she stands by herself -- her first walking shoes will most likely have little taps on them. Sorry, just watched the Shirley Temple story the other day on the We network.
Funny, I used to fear becoming one of those stage moms you hear about. I know I would never push her like a momzilla, though. Her daddy and I decided we would support her in whichever endeavor she should happen to choose, be it soccer, mechanical engineering, cooking whatever... I have a funny feeling she'll probably get a little nudge towards the arts and/or science, though. Heaven knows, she'll have a great foundation if she should want to pursue music or dance. She has the right genes for music, too! We already picked a music school for as soon as she's potty trained. Piano and violin, unless she's too busy with mommy and me yoga or ballet. AT LEAST piano. I sat her at the keyboard the other day ( I said as soon as she can sit up and I meant it!) and plunked the keys with her for a bit. she seems to like D, like me.
As for da-da, work keeps him pretty occupied, but he gets pictures every day in his e-mail. He told me how the ladies gather around his desk to see what's going on with the Barclay girls.
By night he and I are usually taking turns playing with baby and PS2 and watching too much TV. the gym misses us. At least i have the pool here for a little while longer...
"no, honey -- put down the praying mantis -- he's not for eating!"
I definitely need to keep my eyes on her, even in the play-yard.
Me myself and I are mostly hanging with the little one, shopping for toys/diapers/halloween costume, etc., visiting the friendly neighborhood chiropractor and singing here at home or out in NYC with the Yalloppin' Hounds. we have this whole weekend booked so it's a wonder I had a few minutes to scramble together this little update.
