Montagine is a former JJJ unearthed finalist probably best known for featuring on The Hilltop Hoods "1955" and winning an ARIA for best breakthrough release in 2016. If there is a favourite this year though, this daughter of a former soccer player seems to be it.
Montagine's track is very much like anything you would have heard on Triple J in the last decade. though she has been played a lot on the J's this has not translated to commercial success for her singles. Her debut album reached number 4 and her follow-up hit the top 20 in the ARIA charts, but then Triple J listeners still buy albums. it is unknown if they will watch SBS1 and vote for this song though.

The theme of this song could be too close to Vanessa Amarosi's but this is the most likely winner of an average bunch
