Boiling Rock, parts 1 and 2
BOILING ROCK PARTS 1 AND 2 SPOILERS. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Maaan, everyone was going on and on about how much shipping was in this episode. I just didn't see it.
I think if it weren't for all the wank I've read, I'd be more hyped up for this episode.
Either way, this is a v. quotable episode. I love it. :D
Favorite Things:
* "Needed Meat. Gone Fishing." ---Yes, because the way Zuko and Sokka bond is through fishing. XD
* "My first girlfriend turned into the moon." "...That's rough there, buddy."
* The fact that Zuko left Aang homework. Mike and Bryan are doing everything in their power to make Stormbenders and Ozai's Vengeance canon, aren't they?
* NEW GUY IS NEW. Lollerskates. I love that guy. I bet he plays a part in the next episode, though.
* Sokka/Suki = ♥
* "Actually, we have met before."
"We have?!"
"Yes. You destroyed my village, remember?"
"Oh. Right. Sorry. ^_^"
Zuko/Suki = crack!ship OTP!
* ALL of the parts where Zuko and Sokka were guards. Made me lol.
* Man, I don't care how much I love my Dad, I would not risk my only chance of escape on the thin hope that he might be on the next prison ship. That's quite a big gamble for Sokka to make.
PART 2:
* "Prince Zuko is here as well."
"Oh. That's not good, is it?"
"Actually---he's on our side. ^_^ And I kinda wanna sex him up."
* Now, mind you, I hate Maiko with the fiery passions of a thousand burning suns, but I liked the Maiko in this. They didn't make out. And ZUKO LOCKED HER IN A CELL ZOMGLOL!
* the riot scene made me crack up for 15 minutes. My roommate kept looking at me funny. :D
* "I love Zuko more than I fear you." ---Okay, let me get on my little soapbox here. The one thing I absolutely hate about Avatar is how quickly people 'fall in love'--supposedly--so quickly. Every single crush has turned into "OMG I LUVRE U!!!111!" in a matter of a few episodes. In fact, the only couple I think that have a right to say that it Sokka/Suki--and they're the only ones who haven't said it!
* The Mai/Ty Lee betrayal---saw it coming a mile away. I knew when we saw how batshit Azula was in the trailer that Mai and Ty Lee would abandon her somehow. I loved how Ty Lee grabbed Mai and was, "O SHIT LET'S RUN!"
* A sappy ending. Me like. :D
PREDICTIONS:
* New guy is going to have something to do with the Southern Raiders.
* Zuko and Katara are going to go ninja-ing in the next episode.
* Azula shall go batshit
Finale prediction: Azula will kill someone close to Zuko. Zuko has taken away a lot of things recently for Azula--her mother's love, Mai and Ty Lee--and for Azula to not extract revenge would be out of character. My prediction is that, shortly after a fight with Zuko (in the finale) Azula is going to all, "Fuck no. YOU CAN'T TAKE MY THRONE TOO!" and then she will catch Zuko off his guard and shoot lighting at him.
After this occurs, one of a few things will happen:
1. Iroh will sacrifice himself for Zuko. I was almost positive of this last season, now I am not so sure.
2. Ursa will sacrifice herself for Zuko. It would confound Azula's mommy issues 7-fold and possibly traumatize Zuko.
3. A member of the Gaang sacrifices themselves for Zuko. I would bet Toph (if their relationship progresses the way I believe it will) because of the whole swamp-prediction thing, or Katara, because I want Zutara to happen in any way possible it would kill off over half of the ship wars.
4. Mai will sacrifice herself for Zuko. This is the one I'd bet the most money on. Mai really, really loves Zuko. We see that almost every time Mai is on screen. If Mai were to sacrifice herself, it would be her final act of rebellion against Azula. Also, by killing of Mai, we'll see all of Zuko's emoness and rage pour out into one. Not that he wouldn't do that for any of the above characters, but I think if Azula killed her BFF and Zuko's girlfriend, Zuko would be ready to kick some ass, and Azula would be less likely to defend herself. Zuko really needs someone close to him to die in order for him to truly realize how devastating this war is and how much he needs to change it for the better. All antagonist-turn-protagonists need to sacrifice something, and I think Mai will be it.
That, and it would make Ozai's Vengeance pretty damn close to canon. :D

Zutara needs to happen for one reason and one reason only:
ZUKO AND SOKKA WOULD BE BROTHER-IN-LAWS.
HOW FUCKING AWESOME WOULD THAT BE?! THAT WOULD BE THE BIGGEST WIN IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.
