shallow immediate reaction
Because I can’t deal with the deeper stuff until I’ve seen the episode at least three more times.
(Glee Spoilers, 3x14)
That said:
- Hiram and Leroy for all the awards
- Blaine, what little we saw of him, was absolutely flawless. His anger. His rage. His gentle teasing. The fact that he is a bridesmaid, not a groomsman. All very wonderful, wonderful things. Can it be seven weeks into the future now please?
- I disliked the fact that Kurt felt it was his fault. SOMEONE, even if we had just gotten one line out of Blaine/Burt/Schue/anyone telling Kurt it wasn’t his fault, I would have felt better about absolutely everything else. Kurt could have still felt it was his fault, but the lack of acknowledgment anywhere that it wasn’t his fault didn’t sit well with me. Kurt owes Karofsky absolutely nothing. If he wants to feel guilty/help him out, that’s fine, but he owes him nothing, and I want that to be acknowledged at some point. Even if he then turned to the God Squad, I’d be okay with that so long as someone, at some point, had said “Kurt, it’s not your fault.” As it stands, I’m not happy.
- The Kurtosky hospital scene made me feel at once like the ship is going to happen and that it absolutely isn’t at the same time. Yes, Kurt held Karofsky’s hand and soft music played, but they both obviously picture very different things for their future. Karofsky’s imaginary husband looks NOTHING like Kurt (actually looks a lot like Blaine, weirdly enough). That, and I can’t picture either of them meshing with each other’s lives at all. Friends? Yes, they can be total bros. But anything deeper than that just seems unlikely.
- I wish one of our queer kids (and did you see the McKinley High Queer Club?They are so awesome) would have taken five minutes to talk about teen gays and suicide. It could have been Kurt, Blaine, Santana, or even Brittany. Even if it was just “I’ve never wanted to take my own life before but I understand why he would” would have been nice. Even better would have been a backstory for either Kurt or Blaine about a history with self-harm/hatred/suicide/gay bashing/ect.
- lololololol Sebofsky is the greatest thing in the entire world. I fully support Warbler!Karofsky, and Sebastian trying to get into his pants to make up for how bad he feels that he tried to kill himself, and Karofsky makes him work for it. THIS IS MY DREAM, SOMEONE MAKE IT A REALITY.
