Question: how do you make friends as an adult?
I'm being serious. I had so many friends in college, but I graduated and have moved back home and am jobless not working the job I'd like, and I just can't help but wonder how adults make friends. All my college buddies are at least 3+ hours away, and all my high school buddies have moved out of town as well.
Don't get me wrong, I love my fandoms and my internet friends, I'm just wondering how "real" adults are supposed to make friends. I don't drink really so going bar hopping isn't really an option, and I'm not really religious so meeting people through church isn't really an option, either. Everyone I work with is at least 10-20 years older than me and very not interested in the same things I'm interested in.
I need to meet nerds, but the only idea I have is to put out a want ad that says "Single female rogue seeking friends and a DnD group. Available to geek out on weekends" but I feel like that would only attract creepers and that's the last thing I want.
Dammit, I just want people to nerd out with in real life! Why is this so hard? I've never had a hard time making friends in school!
Help.
(In other news, I've signed up for--not one, but two big bangs. What is wrong with me? Send help asap.)
