So today Andrew and I were walking back to my dorm after splitting up with the girls, and we're about to pass an evangelical guy in library mall with jesus signs who yells shit at people.
Andrew asks me if we want to walk past him holding hands.
We're both kind of hesitant, but each have a nervous grin on our faces.
We walk right in front of him, and mid-sentence he tells us to "get out of his sight, perverts" and goes on to say how we need to broadcast our sexuality because we are insecure or something like that, as we walk away laughing..
A girl walking by who happened to see smiles at us both.
There was something about staring oppression and ignorance in the face that was truly empowering.
It was really great that we went through that range of emotions together.
We're individually stronger from it, and closer to each other.
This has been the best end to the best year.
