I was worried about the cost of school with the recent rise in tuition. I knew that cause I was a veteran, the state of Washington pays for half of my tuition. I checked my financial statement from the school today to find that I earned a grant that covers the other half. I had no idea. This puts me significantly ahead of where I thought I ( Read more... )

It appears to actually be a "tuition waiver", it just looks like the state is paying for it because on my finance statement I'm billed full price, and then I get a credit from the state for half of it. All of the Seattle Community Colleges (South, Central, North) and Washington State waive 50% of the tuition. Bellevue Community College waives 33%.

Also, if you haven't checked out the Post-911 GI Bill, it is very nice. I'm not sure when you were discharged (I know I don't qualify) but it's a significant improvement over the Montgomery GI Bill.
