after being laid off from treehouse because they couldn't afford me anymore, i decided to view this as an opportunity to perhaps do multiple volunteer projects over the next year. i applied for volunteer positions at the shedd and lincoln park zoo but i want to start off somewhere else. i got a bunch of stuff together and should be ready to mail off my veterinary internship application to flint creek wildlife rehabilitation(the place that took care of the pigeon i found dogwalking) and i am feeling hopeful about it though there is a possibility of working 12 hour shifts on saturday and sunday for full-coverage of bird shifts. yes that would be unpaid but it will give me a leg-up on working with raptors. i would like to eventually get a license or certificate to be a raptor-handler(hawks,eagles, birds of prey, etc). basically i just want to be able to tell people i am a raptor-handler because it makes it sound like i am working with dinosaurs which i guess i am in a evolutionary kind of way. also. i have been taking lots of pictures of animal things at school and with my trip to florida so if you are really bored and like cute or wild creatures check out flickr.com/photos/jakepants
