It's February. Dunno why, but it kinda feels different knowing that this is going to be the first month I'll spend entirely in another country. Maybe I'm just being weird. Meh.
So...stories from the north...lessee...
I've heard that Norwegians are s'posed to be standoffish and withdrawn. Not true: A lady on my (former) corridor said hi to me on only the third time i greeted her :) Maybe she was just coughing.
I've actually heard people use the words "wee" and "ickle" while sober and not taking the piss.
I am still yet to fathom the pricing structure in Norwegian supermarkets. I've seen stuff like 750g cornflakes being cheaper than the 500g box (not just better value, actually significantly cheaper.) Beer ranges from $2 per 330ml bottle to...ridiculous amounts for not much better quality (and you can't buy it after 8pm weekdays/6pm sat...gives a whole new meaning to beer o'clock.)
Bought 2 sixpacks last night...i have one left. One bottle. Must get more nutrition from non-alcoholic sources. May consider non-alcoholic beer.
