The Indian All-you-can-eat Lunch Buffet and Me

There is something in my left eye, and I'm fighting the sleepy-time effects of Chicken Tikka Masala.

For the weekend, we engaged in a lovely journey to Charlottesville, VA, home of the Commercialized Cavaliers. Cohort-ing along were my friends and yours, zigethos, jkuhnert, the organizer sammilincoln and a bunch of others. I met a great number of people, and saw a few old friends I've been missing. One of them is a girl I always liked in college so I got a reminder of what I had missed out on. I had this thing where I thought she should get rid of her sleaze jerk guy she was sort of seeing before I would hook up. Maybe I'm too nice. Or it's an excuse. Either way, her current boyfriend is a nice guy, but I don't think all her needs are satisfied there.

We went to see FOREIGNER (well, just Lou Gramm, really) and hearing "Waiting for a Girl (Like You)" was the highlight of my life up to this point. Well, there were a couple better things I guess but they're sort of private.

Other tidbits include: attendance of a UVA-Wake Forest football game, in which I have fond memories of my college football days. Dinner with a high school friend who will probably never change and used to live a block from me. Some bars, some chit chat, some fried chicken, some cigarettes. I think I'll be unable to smoke this week. No matter what I try, I can't become a smoker. Oh well, there are worse things.

Question of the day: if you could have your entire memory replaced with something of your own choosing, would you? You may choose individual events to replace as well. And you are guaranteed that no one will know you've done it, so you'll have no indication after the fact that your memories are not of real events. In fact, we'll change their memories too so everything is nice and consistent for you. Imagine, all those bad childhood events, all those nights you could have had the romance of your dreams, all the regrettable things you said to someone, replaced with great sex, adventure in other lands, great magnanimous acts of charity you've performed. Or, would you rather keep the memories you've got and be yourself?
