*dusts off cobwebs* Hello there! I thought I'd start using this journal more again.
To start off, I felt like making an entry regarding a few of the shows I've most recently gotten into or plan on sampling in the last several months. I'm watching more shows than this, but I'll make other posts soon regarding those shows. My big problem is that I fall in love with a lot of shows and want to watch them all, but don't always have the time to do that. Eh. I was never into the binge watching thing at first, but it's something I'm finding myself doing practically every weekend now. Also hiatuses/rerun breaks like right now are a good time to squeeze in another show.
Queer as Folk (UK) - I started watching this on Hulu a while back and I'm about 4 episodes in. When the time/mood comes I'll continue it. I have a bit more of a leaning towards our version but I do like Charlie Hunnam and his portrayal of Nathan.
Parks and Recreation - I had heard a lot about it from a few online friends so I decided to give it a try. I'm still in season 2 of this show, so yeah. A while before I'll be fully caught up. Very funny show and it has some favorites like Amy Poehler and Chris Pratt in it. RON SWANSON FOR THE WIN!
Doctor Who - I had been interested in starting this for quite a while. I was babysitting my little cousin at my uncle's house back in November and I watched some of the 50th anniversary epic marathon on BBC America. I enjoyed what I saw and now I'm more inclined to watch the show from the beginning of at least the current revival. It'll probably be a good while before I watch the older eras. Also I saw the Christmas special "Voyage of the Damned" and loved the hell out of it. Great story, plus I enjoyed seeing other British actors from other favorite shows of mine like Clive Swift (Richard on Keeping Up Appearances), Geoffrey Palmer (Lionel on As Time Goes By), and Russell Tovey (George on Being Human). And I can't forget my girl Kylie Minogue being fierce playing the role of Astrid Perth. I feel like I enjoy both Matt Smith and David Tennant so far after seeing a few episodes of them each. But it'll be a good while before I can compare the two and have a concrete opinion on who's the best like most longtime fans have been able to do.
Awkward - I'm in the middle of season 2. It's been a while since I've watched this but it's a cute show. I cannot STAND Lacey, Jenna's mother.
Chicago PD - I saw that Jesse Soffer is in this and I adore him so I'm going to check it out. Also Sophia Bush is on it too and I really like her.
General Hospital - Got into this throughout 2013. I started watching the Morgan parts specifically because I love the actor, Bryan Craig. Then I saw that Maura West was a part of his storyline, then their characters became a couple!! Then I became more intrigued with the other storylines. I thought it was interesting that I start watching the show more and more when the whole Patrick/Robin/Sabrina thing really started to heat up. It reminds me of when I first started watching Another World on SOAPnet and there was Cass involved with Frankie and his presumed dead wife Kathleen McKinnon came back. Though on AW, Cass actually married Frankie and Kathleen didn't stay for very long. But anyway, I'm hooked on this show!
There's my list. I'm going to have to squeeze in some time for these shows when new episodes of favorites come back. I'll probably take breaks in between seasons (like maybe watch a series of Doctor Who, then take a small break and have a QaF marathon) or something of that nature as I watch. But at either rate, I'm excited to watch more of these shows!
