YES! Supernatural renewed for season 7!!!
OMG I was so so so excited to hear this news!!! SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW, I CANNOT. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH GIFS I HAVE TO DESCRIBE THIS MOMENT OF FLAIL.
I know some fans are probably thinking season 7 is one (or two) seasons too much, but I'm personally really excited about this news! It got off to a bit of a rocky start (SO glad that Lisa is gone), and while soulless!Sam had his funny moments, I'm glad Dean and Sam are close brothers again; at this point in time I'm personally fine with the way this season is going and am anticipating for what they have in the future.
My thoughts on the show ending at some point are basically this: if Eric Kripke, Sera Gamble, J2, etc. all got together, say, this fall, for example, and said "this is going to be the last season" and did a really nice finale to close things off, it would have been sad news, but I would have been able to handle it. But with season 6 ending on a big cliffhanger from what's known, if the CW had decided not to renew the show? Oh HELL no, I would have NOT been happy with a scenario that. Something like that would have been absolutely unforgivable.
Basically, it's like, now I can watch the end of this season, still shed some tears if it's going to be that kind of an ending, and at least during the torturous wait of the summer, have the satisfaction in knowing that the show will be back in September.
Also if Jensen directs another episode, I'd just love that.
And more shirtlessness with Sam and Dean would be nice too. Just sayin'.
