So tonight was the night for making tacos, my favorite, of course. The power had gone out a couple of times, but it was only briefly, so after it had been on for a while, I decided it was safe enough to go ahead and make dinner.
I started browning the beef, getting it all ready. I cooked it thouroughly and strained the fat off. All that was left was to add the seasoning and cook it for a couple more minutes.
I'll be damned if the power didn't go out right at that point. Curses!
I waited for 10 minutes hoping that, like the rest of the evening, it would return. Every other time it went out today, it was only for a brief time.
After 20 minutes of hoping, it was obvious that tacos were not in my future for tonight. So I resigned myself to eating a piece of chicken and a sandwich made from some leftover steak (with untoasted bread, no less!)
I was very disappointed because I was so close to my beloved tacos, but then to add insult to injury, the damned power came up 10 minutes later. Just my luck.
I finished cooking up the taco meat and threw it in a container. At least I'll be able to feast on them for lunch tomorrow. They aren't quite as good the next day, but they are still damn tasty. Oh well, at least it wasn't a total loss.
