so im walking to my car after class earlier today...its a little chilly outside so theres some speed in my step...
i come upon a female walking in front of me...and continuing my fast walking ways, i make my move to mosy on by her. walking is sometimes like driving in that way. you all know it. dont act like you dont think about these things, because everyone does. someone isnt walking as fast as youd like...you PASS EM.
once the attempt is already initiated, theres no turning back. i step slightly to the left and pick up the quickness just a bit. she is talking on her phone at this point...but she knew what she was doing. she wasnt fooling anyone. i speed up...she speeds up. purposely keeping pace with me. YOU CANT DO THAT! its cheating! just LET ME PASS BY! itll be over in a few seconds. just take the L and then you can forget the situation ever occurred.
did she take this approach? NO! she made it the most awkward walk i have ever experienced. the only time you should be walking next to somebody is when youre walking WITH somebody. instead im awkwardly busting my ass to out-stride this girl and shes effortlessly galavanting along...mocking me with every step.
we reached a fork in the road...and i hoped so much that she would just cross over to the alternate path...we remained even...neck and neck until we reached this separation...
when it finally came upon us...what did she do? she cut behind me to go down this opposing path...why is that important?
SHE STOPPED!
SHE ducked behind ME!
obviously a non-verbal surrender...
that motion was her white flag...
i continued on to my car with a feeling of accomplishment.
