Those who already have the last cd release from Nine Inch Nails won’t need to be told how good the release is. Those who haven’t should do your self a favour and go out and buy the recording. Last week my friend Carol from Sacramento in the USA sent me the Nails latest extended play offering. The cd has the original release version of “Everyday is exactly the same”, with a remixed version that sounds every bit as good. The cd also has remixes of “The hand that feeds”, and “Only”. On Saturday afternoon I took my racing kayak onto the river for a quick paddle from Sandy Beach in Bassendean to the Bassendean Railway Bridge. The trip took much longer than expected because I was joined on the way down to the bridge by a family of dolphins. There was a male, female and with a baby tracking close by. At one point the male broke away from the others and swam underneath my canoe. I started to get a little concerned as I watched the surface of the river being broken by the water that was being thrust upwards by the male’s tailfin. I was worried that perhaps he perceived me as a threat o his family and was going to overturn my craft. But I was worrying needlessly because all he did was swim about a meter the other side of me and thrust him-self about two meters into the air where he performed a 360 degrees barrel roll and splashed back down into the water. I stopped and watched the dolphins skim through the waters around me looking for fish until the arrival of two powerboats whose owners were attracted by the spectacle sent the dolphins scurrying back down the river.
From 8.30pm Saturday night to 10.15am Sunday morning I spent working on my volunteer job. I was pleased to find that "my girl" was alive after vanishing for nearly a month. On the way home I stopped in to see my parents and staid there for about an hour. Then I stopped off at one of my favourite aquarium shops and bought a large Texas cichlid purely because I was fascinated by his colouration. He was a bargain at $25.
There is still no indication from the electric blue breeding tank that the females are hiding fry in the rock caves that I built for them. There are four females and one male in the tank; there were five but she succumbed to to either a worm infection or an inability to compete with the other larger females for food.
