haven't updated in awhile, and lots of stuff has been going on........
since november i have:
1. not flunked out of pharmacy school OR gotten addicted to anything! major goals accomplished!
2. learned humility, courtesy of pharmacy school
3. worked at CVS, and hung out with old, wrinkly people for my geriatric rotation.
4. winter break: -saw lots of westervillians, including my "fuckin retahds" to go to Classics with
-went on a botched 2-day ski trip with megan to a ski resort in WV. only bad news was that it was 65 degrees, raining, and the resort was closed. but as a good sign for the relationship, even when a trip with high expectations went horribly awry and we were stranded in rural west virginia, we still had a good time.
- shortly thereafter went to Sanibel Island with the czako family for a couple of days. managed to not ruin any good feelings they might've had about me and had a blast. played "i'm a barnacle" a lot... very exciting game. lots of walks on the beach, a sunrise, and kissing under the stars.
5. Since winter quarter has started:
- Finished up a month-long rotation at children's hospital. I got to work with a bunch of different people in a bunch of the different wings and satellite pharmacies, and it was really interesting. even got to be in the trauma room when an ambulance called in a Code 1, although it turned out to be a false alarm; a false alarm is good since we're talking about a 10-year old kid, but i was kinda hoping something crazy would happen while i was there, just to experience it. overall, it was incredibly exciting to be in there but also incredibly sad, especially in the intensive care units, where i just saw the most awful things. seeing some of the people there teaches you something about love, strength, and makes you thankful for the things you hope you never have to endure yourself.
- i'm going to help out coaching the WN lacrosse team, because i felt like my life could use a couple more stressful commitments. i think it'll be good for me, plus i've always envisioned myself as a really good coach (although maybe i've just been watching too much "Friday Night Lights" lately. best show on tv right now! as exciting but not as confusing as "Lost"! go watch!)
- made a list detailing the things i've done since i last updated. zing!
- with a couple fellow pharmacy nerds i joined a rec ice hockey league. go D-league Racers! (D league means half of us can't even skate. megan comes to the games just to laugh at how horribly awkward i am out there). it's been a lot of fun and good to go out and do something competitive, even if i suck at it. only problem is that the games start at 1:15 am (only time the rink is available) and i usually don't get in bed until 3 am, and while this may sound like kosher to you fake students out there, i have 7:30am classes every day of the week. those days-after don't tend to be my most productive, but no regrets. 3 hours of sleep for the win. 3 wins, 1 loss, and we goin' to the playoffs!
- megan and i celebrated our 3-year anniversary. we've been trying to act more cultured lately, so we had a nice dinner then went to the columbus symphony orchestra. we are the oldest 20/21-year olds on this planet. megan has continued her streak of being my nicer, better, and slightly cuter half. but it's close on the cuteness. speaking of which... cuteness drive, engage! happy valentine's day!
THIS VERY MOMENT, megan has banished me from the kitchen while she cooks me fabulous things for my valentine's day dinner. hot, up to the minute photographic coverage! -
this continues our streak of all out rowdiness, including: BUILDING A SNOWMAN! COMPLETE WITH POTATO EYES AND BANANA SMILE!
let's not forget... GIGANTIC SNICKERDOODLE COOKING FEST!
editor's note- I realized after posting that this is a definitive picture of the exciting life megan and i lead. notice the baked goods, pepsi freezes, and blockbuster-rented move of maximum romantic corniness. all while wearing pajamas. and yes, we made a 2 foot snickerdoodle, don't hate.
and here's just some cute pictures of us through the years to prove that you DO lead sad, lonely, and pathetic lives, and this valentine's day is a confirmation of it!!! never forget how awesome we are! envy us! bahahahaha!!!
editor's note- does that come off as rude? who cares, on to the pictures!
that's about it for now. to confirm the rumors, yes, megan and i are moving in together next year. and we BOTH like the idea, thank you very much. she can cook and do laundry for me, while i be smelly and keep her up to date on sports! win-win situation!
