Last week our oldest dog wasn't eating so we took her to the Vet. She was diagnosed with Cancer a year ago, and it's been growing in her stomach ever since. (You could actually see it by now) Anyway, the vet said she might not be able to eat and is in pain because all that space is taken up by the cancer. She wouldn't even sleep in her bed anymore, she was so uncomfortable.
Being as she lasted several months longer then the vet thought she would, and we were feeling rotten at just waiting for her to die some day, we decided to have her put down. We collected her ashes on friday, and might scatter them someplace nice.
Now quite a few of our friends know Briar Rose, who was the sweetest, gentle natured thing you could ever meet. (We could feed her off a fork, for goodness sake!) We've owned her pretty much the whole time we've been in New Zealand (11 years) and we got her because Mum can't live without having something furry to cuddle. XP
Here's to our darling doggy who we hope to see again - along with our other lovelies - when we, ourselves, head for heaven. Luv ya, you fuzzy chicken!
