I tried to fix a few things here and there so I hope it's not to hard to follow. If it is...Sorry *bows a lot more* I also apologize a lot in advance for making Hannie so mean...passive hannie should never be like this. *flails* but the HanHae *cuddles her OTP* I play the majority of Donghae's parts in this and she plays the majority of Hannkyung's.
He is my most beloved friend and my bitterest rival, my confidant and my betrayer, my sustainer and my dependent, and scariest of all, my equal.

Donghae sat at the table in the kitchen, it was late and he knew where his older brother was. His parents, always working weren't home so it was left to him, of his own accord to make sure his brother was okay, when he got home.He lay his head down on the table with a sigh. There wasn't a guarantee that he would come home, there never was. There were many times where Hankyung wouldn't be home for days, and Donghae would stay up all night every night waiting for him. Though now, slowly he felt sleep start tugging away at him and he drifted off.
Hankyung left the run down house he had been at and got in the back seat of his car. Any responsible older brother would be at home looking after their younger siblings, but he wasn't responsible, furthest thing from it. He looked down at the new syringe and smirked, pressing down untill the liquid squirted out a bit.He held up his left arm and injected the herion into his veins. He sighed irritated yet also releived. Slowly he crawled up front and began to drive home, dangerous or not.
It was only a little later when he pulled over about a block away from their home. He was feeling the effects of the heroin starting to kick in and although he was enjoying it, he wanted to live until the next shot. He now rested in his back seat high as a kite and mused about things that weren't there.
What was perhaps a roll of thunder...or maybe it was just a trashcan outside hitting the ground, made Donghae jumped up questioning the darkness of his surroundings. He sighed as he realized that it was only later and that Hankyung still wasn't home. Standing up he sleepily walked over to the living room and sat down in the one of the chairs, hoping that a new sitting place would keep him awake longer. The lack of sleep was visible on his face as dark circles had shown up, never the less he still went to work, and still went to his classes, but the effects of the late night waitings were taking their toll on him and his social life.
Hankyung rolled over, forgetting he was in the back seat and landed in the floorboard of the car. He swore colorfully and sat up. He hadn't taken much of the drug and so it was beginning to wear off. He thought it was around five PM. That's when he last checked. Now it was three AM. He sighed and got in the driver seat again despite knowing he shouldn't drive and he made the remaining short drive home, opening a beer before going to go in the house.
Donghae looked up as he saw the car lights outside of the house and stood quickly rushing to the window looking out. The surprise in his eyes was easy to see. His older brother was actually home. He raced to the door waiting for it to open.
Hankyung opened the door, knowing it wouldn't be locked. He frowned when he saw Donghae waiting for him and pushed him to the side out of his way. "Don't speak,You're an idiot for waiting up all the time." He said plopping down on the living room couch and taking another drink from his bottle.
Donghae took the push as he was about to speak before following Hankyung to his seating position.
"Hyung, I worry about you. It's my job as a younger brother ..." He cut off for a moment before walking over to him and bending down"...at least stop staying out so late..
Hankyung looked at him before slapping him hard. "I told you not to talk and you turn around and try to reprimand me? You really are stupid." He said taking another drink, finishing it off.
Donghae put a hand to his cheek and stayed silent. Nothing ever changed. It had always been like this, since Donghae could remember..since their parents had left them for their jobs. Hankyung had basically ...he wouldn't say raised him, since he was nine. Donghae had more or less raised himself, and watched as his hyung only got worse not that he hadn't tried to stop him.
Hankyung watched him, his head swimming from the drug and the alcohol. He got pissed off for no reason as far as either of them knew and kicked out at Donghae, sending him to the floor. He stood up and glared. "You need to worry about your pathetic self and not me. I'm none of your business and neither is what I do!" He growled before making his way to his room.
Donghae followed after him with his eyes before sighing. It was typical....everything was always ...typical. He rose to his feet locking the front door before heading down the hall to reach his own room, his door across from Hankyung's. as long as he was home, Donghae worried less, and he could sleep if only a little.
~-.-~
The next morning, Hankyung woke up feeling a bit light headed but otherwise fine. He sat up and frowned, remembering the night before. "Stupid......nosey......." he grumbled looking for his clothes to take a shower.
Donghae peeked out of the bathroom as heard Hankyung's moving around and wasted no time in scurrying to his room. "hyung, I got your clothes ready for you. Their in the bathroom already." In the light, his darkened and sleep deprived eyes were easily seen but that smile was just as bright.
Hankyung frowned. "I told you not to touch my things or even be in here for that matter." He growled as he walked to the bathroom shutting the door in Donghae's face.
Donghae closed his eyes and backed up as not to get hit by the door but smiled never the less. "..Your welcome hyung." He spoke this more to himself as he knew it would do little good for him to tell it to Hankyung. In the meantime he headed downstairs to set the breakfast, that he had already made out for the both of them.
Hankyung had pretty much gotten used to the effects of the drugs he took so he wasn't affected as badly. He sighed and finished his shower quickly, wanting to either get out of the house, or ease his stress in...... other ways. He'd only ever really 'beaten' Donghae once before and it thrilled him to no end that the latter wouldn't defend himself.
Donghae had finished setting the table and looked up as he heard the shower water shut off. He made his way to the hall way to tell him that breakfast was made. That smile never falling from his face.
Hankyung was in the process of drying his hair when he heard Donghae come up. He was shirtless but who cared. "What?" He asked irritably but didn't wait for an answer, grabbing Donghae by the upper arm and pulling him closer roughly only to hit him hard in the face. "I'm really sick of you not listening to me. You're worthless and stupid and I really don't have to put up with you." He growled grabbing the soap dish off the nearby bathroom counter and throwing it at Donghae's face.
Donghae couldn't catch his breath fast enough, from the the sudden jerk of Hankyung's pull, to the sudden hit. The soap dish, due to short distance, didn't break but hit hard enough to later leave a large bruise on his forehead. Donghae's head was down, not looking up at him.
"I made breakfast for you...It's on the kitchen table.."
Hankyung frowned again and walked past him to go to the kitchen. He picked up his plate and dumped the food in the garbage before heading back to his room.
Donghae who had followed him downstairs watched from a distance as Hankyung dumped the food into the trash can. He didn't move as he watched his hyung go back upstairs. It wasn't a surprise. It was....typical. Donghae sighed and made his way upstairs leaving his own food untouched for the time being so he could get ready for his classes.
Hankyung lay on his bed just thinking. He could mess with Donghae more but decided against it. He had to be careful what marks were visible on him. The bruise on Donghae's head could be covered up with a lie easily, the handprint on his arm, not so much.
Donghae stood in the bathroom, having gotten dressed faster then necessary. He wore his traditional school uniform. He was in his last year of high school so he had to work a bit harder to pass his classes. He took the bottle of cover up from the counter and blended it into his skin, under his eyes, to hide the circles. As well as on his arm best he could to hide the hand print on his arm and the most of the bruise on his head. He couldn't have people asking to many questions.
Hankyung smelt the foundation and frowned. He hated that smell. He hated when his brother would wear make up. It made him feel like he was related to a fag.
Donghae slowly brushed his hair back, into his normal hair style before smiling at himself in the mirror. He turned and made his way out peeping his head into Hankyung's room.
"I'm off to school. I'll be back after my shift tonight. " He wanted so badly to tell him to stay home tonight but stayed silent thinking better of it.
"I don't want to know where you are." Was Hankyung's only reply. He actually had to go to work today too. He worked as a dance instructor in the studio near Donghae's school. He taught a lot of his classmates but he only did it to get the money he needed for the 'medicine' he used.
Donghae just smiled at him. "Have fun at work...Hyung." He whispered before heading towards the door to head off to his classes. He always walked to school, why? Because the only car they had, Hankyung wouldn't let him touch. He would be late today...he knew he would be but he'd try and make it there.
Hankyung rolled his eyes and turned over to go back to sleep. He didn't have to be at work until two so why not sleep?
~-.-~
Donghae had reached his school and as he knew, got there late. forty five minuets late. His excuse was over sleeping which gained him a scolding from the teacher and cleaning duty after school. He'd be late for work.
He sat now in class, during a small break in their busy studying. His friends having played twenty questions with him like crazy.
"Are you sure your okay Donghae?"
"Fine" He smiled over at his friend who gave him an unsure look but it was then the bell rang.
*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*
Hankyung groaned as he tried to ignore that damned alarm clock. He swore if he ever found out who invented them, he would track down their children and slit their throats. He turned it off and sat up. "I don't want to go to work....... I'm low on money though." He said and begrudgingly got up to get ready.
Donghae stared out the window of his next class, half listening to his teacher. He glanced at the clock before back out the window. Hankyung would be getting up now, most likely, to go to work. His eyes shift to the dance studio next door. He wondered if he would be able to spot him when he drove up.
Hankyung drove to his work, stopping only to rid himself of the garbage after his night last night. He parked in the employees section and locked the car. He was always the first one who got there so he figured smoking a cigarette wouldn't hurt. He stood outside the front as he did, preferring to keep his job.
Donghae saw the car pull up and perked up watched as it parked nearby and Hankyung made his way to the front, he couldn't see really well from so far away but he knew his brother and knew what he was doing. He'd prefer him smoking over all the other things he did.
Hankyung put it out and went inside the building to do his stretches and things to get ready. He really hated all the kids but today was try out day and he had to put up with it. He usually only chose older kids unless he absolutely HAD to.
Donghae's hand traced the window slowly, as Hankyung made his way back inside. It was then he spotted it, the sign. He had to strain his eyes to read it but he managed.
'Auditions today.'
A light smile crossed his lips before he turned and raised his hand gaining the atteition of the teacher.
"...May I be excused. I don't feel so well."
His teacher only nodded, and putting on the best sick act he could made his way out the door and downstairs. He quickly got changed into his physical education clothes and made his way across the street hoping not be spotted.
He took a deep breath before heading inside the studio.
Hankyung had been in the middle of doing a split when Donghae entered and he looked up upon hearing the bell ding. He stared for a moment, unable to get up, as one of the other instructors asked if they could help him. Hankyung finally overcame his shock but it was replaced by irritability. "Donghae what in the hell are you doing here? You're supposed to be 'at school'." He growled.
Donghae smiled up at the other instructor as he was spoken too but turned to Hankyung ignoring his tone. "..I'm here to audition." He squeaked. "I mean...after all I love to dance."
Hankyung scowled. ~Just... Fucking... Great.~ He thought. "I won't let you. You're not even supposed to be here." He said. The other instructor intervened. "He has a reason to be here as does everyone else who auditions, though I don't condone skipping school." He eyed Donghae sternly. Hankyung gaped at him but sighed. "Fine...Since i'm in charge of this crap, come on. I'll start teaching you the choreography for the auditions. You're expected to learn it and perform it to the other instructors in an hour so, I hope you stretched." He said.
Donghae did a few warm up stretches before scurrying after his hyung, a huge true grin still plastered on his lips. He got to spend a true time with his brother, as well as do something he loved. It was a taste of heaven.
"There are two parts to this choreography. There's a portion where you'll be judged on single choreography, partner choreography, and freestyle choreography which is obviously up to you but is the most important part.... We're starting with the single choreography now watch me." Hankyung said looking only at the mirror and going through the whole routine first
Donghae watched on and smiled as he started doing the dance back, a few parts off but pretty good for only seeing it once. He smiled up at Hankyung, glad to see his brother when he wasn't drunk and or doing drugs.
.
Hankyung was pissed. He didn't want Donghae there at all but from the looks of it, he may be staying. Hankyung went through the dance at parts where Donghae was having trouble and broke it down for him.
Donghae worked his hardest to get the dance steps straight and slowly but surly managed it and started adding his own style to it.
"Can someone else get him for the partner choreography?" Hankyung called irritatedly. "Everyone's busy." One of the others said. Hankyung blinked. He hadn't even noticed others come in. He sighed and turned back to Donghae before dancing his part of the partner dance. It seemed a tiny bit sexual but that's how all things were these days. "And your part..." He saidand one of the other instructors came over to do Hankyung's part while Hankyung did the part Donghae was supposed to do. "Typicly, a girl would be teaching this to you." Hankyung sighed.
Donghae smiled and shrugged. "Dancing is dancing regardless, there is always someone who will enjoy it." Donghae spoke as he watched the two. "this was easier then the single one. " He spoke before doing his part pretty easily.
Hankyung scowled. "You say that until you wind up with your partner.... now let's try it together as much as the idea revolts me." He said.
Donghae giggled at the thought of dancing with a girl before starting the dance with him. He was almost as flawless as he had been dancing by himself, but it was the last couple of moves of the dance that tripped his feet and sent him falling to the floor.
Hankyung swore and let him hit the ground. "You can't trip in the audition so why do it now?" He sneered. He really wanted Donghae to just quit but he could only use words with so many people around.
"Guess I was born with two left feet " Donghae laughed sitting up, he rubbed his head where the bruise was, some of the make up coming off onto his hands. He had hit it on the ground so his head was now thumping in pain pretty badly.
Hankyung noticed this but didn't say anything, instead he bent down and put a beanie on his head. "Try again." He said.
Donghae put a hand to his head and the beanie a bit shocked by the action.
"Thank you..." He whispered before standing up and trying the dance again this time managing to get all the way though it without tripping or messing up the moves.
Hankyung's expression remained the same. "Don't get the wrong idea... I didn't hide it because of you.. I did it so as to not be questioned." He said moving to dance with Donghae one more time. "After this, you're the first to audition.... and don't forget to be thinking about freestyle." He said.
Donghae's smile faded then, he should have known better then to get his hopes up, none the less he felt a very strong attachment to the beanie that sat on his head, even if it meant very little to the one who gave it to him. Donghae turned to the door of the audition room, looking back up at Hankyung one more time. "I'll get in just for you Hyung."
Hankyung grimaced. "Don't count on it." He said and pointed. "That's who you need to see to start your audition. he'll take you to the other room with your partner."
