Decisions... are hard to make

  • Faculties
  • Wide open spaces
  • General common understanding of human concepts that are standard all over the world
  • Patience- i really appreciate that patience is a quality that people possess .
  • memory- that we can almost literally replay moments of our lives in our own head, and with other people by talking about it.

Had a very nice conversation with my mum about office politics. It was really interesting. Obvs, I cant actually disclose what we were talking bouton here.. =/  ! But it just highlighted the asymmetry of information. that's a concept i've been reading about in freakonomics (i borrowed it from pinochio - sarah.... who borrowed it from Headgirl - Jenifer), which is a book i recommend for anyone with an inquiring mind, and an interest in human beings =]  But anyway it was nice to sit down with my mum for a while.

It's nice when we have the time to sit down and have conversations. We also talked about me needing to think what it was that I was interested in besides law.. That (Law) being a route I am already following didn't need to be a limitation on what i can achieve; but rather my time in university was an opportunity for me to to consider what kind of professional exams/coures i'd like to undertake, in order to be a professional in the field of law, and/or to work at some sort of qualification that would cement my skills in another field, and ensure that i have something to fall back on. So im starting to think about that, so far its just starting a list of what i'm interested in, which has been kind of easy, since i started making that list of facts about me, its been easy to look at that list and draw out what sort of things i like/ am interested in.

Also I've been coming to a point where i'm going to have to start making a decision about which two universities i'm going to accept. one as my firm choice, and one as my insurance. It looks like Kent's going to be the insurance.. still going to see if i can visit Kent & Northumbria, then for my insurance choice i think Staffordshire is pretty much of the lit... which is pretty much what i would have expected, because i didn't seriously consider it, i just put it down when i couldn't make up my mind about a fifth choice, and i didn't really like looking at that empty space where a fifth choice would be. I pretty much just checked which of the universities were doing law courses, what kind of grades thy were looking for, then put it down. The others i ddi do some research on before hand, and i wanted to go to them. IT's a bit sad about Northumbria i think, because we've been looking at it since 2004/2005. lool wow, that's about four years.

Hmm anyway, I didn't really do too much research on Westminster, I think the Greenwich open day made my subconsciously consider them as my insurance choice. In retrospect it's become apparent that i need to consider Westminster a contender for the title of  insurance choice. I'm just really not into westminster right now because they don't have on campus-accomodation. and then i'd have to consider things like travel costs, and im not sure what kind of a university community you can have with everyone scattered about. I think what with the whole boarding school experience in year seven, i'd really want to go back to student community.

Just got this pack from Northumbria, can't really peruse it yet. will wait to my brain is in check. Anyway university... its an exciting time.

Did I tell you I want to get a gold fish.
Ill tell you more about it next time hopefully. =]
