Very sad to here that Erlene died. We weren't close, but sI knew her enough to know that she was a real spark of life. How did it happen? My condolences to all those who knew her.
On my side of town, in sunny Florida, life continues to chug away. I finished the freelance project I was on, which took about a month. It was a good paying gig so now I've got a little money in the bank to tide me over until the next job-o. That's a good feeling since it has rarely happened in my life. I've already been contacted from the agency about a 6-month contract position, but I think it's with Citibank, which is the devil. They drove me off the deepend when my grandma was dying and fired me when I went to a hospital. That really sucked, but I'm not sure I have the stamina for such a soul killing place.
Just had a call. It IS Citibank. So, that's out. Don't really mind, though. That place made me physicallly sick. Plus, it's like an hour away and with the cost of gas these days... well, sheesh.
Um, let's see... My jewelry gig is still going well. It's nice because I can generate a little extra pocket cash from two stores now. Very different styles required by each store, so it keeps me stretching. If anyone is ever looking for a one-of-a-kind gift for pretty cheap, just let me know. I can tailor make something according to the individual's taste.
Oh, Wes... Perhaps Chandra would like something special for the wedding. I work a lot with Swarovski, which is fine crystal, and it really can look very fairy tale (but tasteful). Chandra can be a princess. Hass she picked out a dress yet? If so, let me know the colors. Wether you want to buy something or not, I can at least send a little wedding gift. Hit me up and be very accurate on the colors.
Bobble, Graham, Sterling... I miss you guys so much. I hope life is treating you well. Stay funky.
Oh P.S. I've got a nice little garden growing and my tomatoes taste really good. I'm growing some heirlooms and they taste the BEST. Some are green and yellow striped. Cool, huh? I've eaten zuchini and lots of cukes from the garden as well, although my Ronde de Neice squash has never produced mature fruit. All the little babies turn yellow and rot off. Bummer dude.
Oh yeah. Frankie and I are starting to talk about marriage, which is a first, since he shies away from that and talk of having children. I recently told him that I'm going to do both, no matter what, and he took it as an ultimatum. I told him I'm 33, which is starting to push it for motherhood. Don't want to wait too long since the chances of birth defects increase as you age. Anyway, he took it seriously and finally realized he wasn't going to be able to keep me without the whole marriage and a baby thing. It scares the shit out of him. Too bad.
Well, that's about it. Keep it rockin'.
