Back when I was working with NAMPN, I created a MySpace account so I could view the various missing person MySpace pages. I never really did anything with it, but I did keep the account after I left NAMPN.
I had some free time last night, so I started messing around with the profile. Then, I decided to see who from my major was on the site. Since my college was specialized, pretty much anyone with my major from the U went to my college.
One of the first people to pop up was Neil.
Neil was named after Neil Diamond, which gave us much material for giving him a hard time. He was the nicest guy, very mellow. He drove in from the 'Naw just to help me celebrate my 21st birthday, since it was after school was out and no one was around. We had some history night classes together across campus, so we would either walk or he'd drive. He also was one of my staunchest supporters when my relationship from hell imploded, perhaps because he had just had a messy breakup himself. We worked in the caf together, as did our SOs, so there was a lot of drama (probably more for me, b/c my ex was truly an ass).
Anyway, I sent him a message, and he replied today. He lives in Madison Heights, right up 696, so we're practically neighbors. In any event, I'm happy to have found another old friend.
