Well, Aiden Patrick arrived January 31st at 7 a.m.  He was 6 lbs 1 oz, 19 inches long.
During a routine doctors check up on Monday I found out that my blood pressure was high
and that I was spilling protein in my urine.  The doctor said that we needed to induce
labor.  I went into the hospital Monday around 4 in the afternoon.  They did some routine
checks to make sure Aiden was doing ok.  Everything looked fine so they said I was fine
to do an all natural birth as I had planned for.  That was a relief!  They began the
treatment at 7:30 Monday night, did the last dose at 3:30 Tuesday morning, by 4:30 I was
having intense contractions, by 6:30 I was ready to push and he was here by 7.  So 2 and
a half hours of intense labor and he arrived.  The midwife didn't even make it into the
room in time to deliver him, the nurses did it!!  He just wanted out!

They were all surprised at how fast it went.  I couldn't have done it without my birth
coaches and my mom by side.  They kept me relaxed through the whole thing so my body just
did what comes naturally!  I was really apprehensive not to do an epidural because I am
known for being a wussie, but maybe I'm tougher than I thought!  My mom keeps saying the
classic moment of the labor was when I asked if I could just take a quick nap, too bad I
wasn't joking, that would have been nice!  Overall I was very surprised at how "easy" it
was.  The first thing I said after he was out was "I dint know why some women dint think
they can do this, that wasn't so bad."  It really wasn't and as painful as I thought it
would be and it was defiantly worth it all.  The nurses and doctors were all very
impressed with him.  He didn't cry when he was born, just looked around at everyone,
didn't cry for his shots or for his circumcision.  Hes a tough little guy!

Thursday was his first day home.  He's doing great.  He doesn't cry much at all, but is
just content to sleep and be held.  None of his clothes fit him yet because he's so tiny!

You'll see how ridiculously huge his snowsuit is!  Lots of pics to follow!
