Here's what I'm thinking about for next semester:

Confirmed classes I must take:
EDUC 311 - Fieldwork Seminar, M 7:30-10:00 PM + 5-8 hours of fieldwork per week
MATH 399 - Senior Seminar, TBA

French electives, must take 1:
FREN 203 - Passion et culture: Le Grand Siecle, MW 12:30-2:00
FREN 312 - Advanced Topics: Le Maghreb Litteraire, M 1:30-4:00

Other courses, must take 1:
GNPR 272 - Workplace Discrimination and the 1st Amendment, Th 1:30-4:00 (Limited to 40)
ECON 220 - Introduction to Game Theory, TTh 1:00-2:30
PHIL 223 - Testimony and Trust, TTh 1:00-2:30

So, Fridays are guaranteed free, which is nice. I'd also like either Tuesday or Wednesday free to do fieldwork.

I'm very torn about the French classes. I'm more interested in the Lit. class, but it's 300-level with a damn hard prof. But it's also once a week. I have no clue what the Passion et culture class is about, but it's a 200-level, which means that there's less work. However, it's also twice a week, which means that I would have to get in the Workplace Discrimination class and do fieldwork on Tuesdays to avoid doing it on Fridays (fieldwork on Fridays would not make for happy Julien).

As for the other electives, they all sound interesting. Both Game Theory and Testimony and Truth have prerequisites that I don't quite meet, but I think I can talk my way into them (I'm a Math major who did take Intro to Macroeconomics for Game Theory, and I'm Honor Council Co-Chair for Testimony and Trust.).

If you're wondering why Senior Sem is the only math on my schedule, that's because I need to take more credits outside my major (3, to be precise) to graduate. That makes Game Theory seem appealing, because it's math outside of the Math Dept. However, I've heard it's hard, even for the Mathematical Econ people.

Shopping period will be much fun, I can tell.

EDIT: Found this description of Passion et culture on the French Dept. website: "Representative authors and literary movements placed within their cultural context, with special attention to development of the theater (Corneille, Molière, and Racine) and women writers of various genres." Oooh, that doesn't sound bad at all, and it would probably be better than Koffi's 300-level. I suppose that, in that case, I could do fieldwork Tuesdays if I took Workplace Discrimination or 2 mornings a week if I took one of the other classes. Hmmm, decision is much harder now.

Happy birthday, callmeemma!
