Wednesday in DC with
eolianbeck was fun. We started out with dropping her bag off at
anna_maria's place of work, whereupon I teased Beck for having the voice tag for Anna in her phone being "Anna Maria" and not, you know, her real name. I'm still amused that people thought my real name was Jamie. Meh, close enough.
We then tried to locate a Starbucks with Wireless access, but we struck out. By the time that happened, we were pretty hungry, so we went to Bertucci's for lunch. The service was pretty bad(the host brought me more drink refills than my server did, but I do down those Raspberry Iced Teas really quickly), but I tipped nicely anyway. I was amused at how much restaurant lingo I picked up on. I'm pretty sure this was my first time eating in a casual dining restaurant since I started working at Applebee's. Anyway, as we left, Beck's backpack (or it could have been mine, I'm not sure) knocked over two metal table display things, but no one really seemed to mind. I made a joke about leaving a trail of destruction in our wake.
After that, we went to the Smithsonian Air and Space museum, which I remembered as much cooler than it ended up being. So, that was a bust. Plus, there were little kids in abundance (damn summer vacation), so we decided to go to the movies. We saw The Bourne Supremacy, which I did not particularly care for. Seriously, I (almost) fell asleep during one of the car chases. Also, the climax of the movie didn't come at the end, so that was dumb.
After that, we went back to pick up
anna_maria from work, and then we went back to her apartment. The rest of the evening consisted of scolding pets from doing things they weren't supposed to (Pippen eating Tara's food, Tara licking people's feet and legs) and installing speech software on
anna_maria's laptop. Alas, I had to leave before the synthesized voice reading porn.
Yesterday, I worked at SfA realy late. Like, until 6. Then, I went to the library to return some books and check out/renew others. I also rented A Beautiful Mind, mostly because it was free. I enjoyed the movie, though I could have used more math. I love the stereotype of crazy math people. I feel that it gives me an edge.
Today was both SfA and Applebee's. I really hate working with Chris, mostly because he just doesn't (work, that is). Frustration city. I got a little snippy about it, but whatever. No brain anyurism (sp?), tonight, at least. In good news, however, we were again swamped, so I made lots of money. I'm closing tomorrow, but we'll see. Last week, we were pretty dead Saturday. Hopefully, someone will pick up my Sunday shift so I can go to Haverford. Sigh.
My legs hurt. I'm going to bed. Yay for books to read.
