I went to talk to a graduate adviser today after class and I learned a lot. Here are my options:
1) Apply as a non-degree student and I will automatically be able to start taking a class in the Spring. I would still have to go through the regular application process, this would just allow me to get started right away.
2) Wait and start in the Fall. The application process would be the same either way.
If I go with option 1, I would not get financial aid and would have to pay the $2,000 tuition for one class. The normal application fee is $45 and I will have to pay $250 to take the GMAT. There would also be an additional $15 fee for the non-degree application.
Or I wait to start in Fall and apply for financial aid, which will be all loans. Nothing new to me. I should get my application in by January 1st either way.
So what do I do? Should I go ahead and start right away? Do I take some much needed time off and not have to stress of paying the $2,000? This is also all dependent on whether or not I get a job offer from the IRS. If I do, then this entire thing is irrelevant because I would not be able to go to UWM anyway.
I don't know. I feel like I don't even have the time to really think about this. I guess most likely I will just wait and plan on starting in the fall. It will be cheaper and less stressful, but it would be nice to get one class out of the way and I would stay in school mode.
What do I do?
